fill tool?

#1

Hello Guys…

I’ve just recently started using mudbox and i have a question…is there a way to fill a certain object with a specified texture? im trying to texture a sandy floor…wich has to be a hirez texture becuase the camera in certain parts of the shot will be low enough to see floor detail…i wnat my texture to be as less blurred as possible. so id like to paint at a zoom level i feel will work…but on such a big model its time consuming to be panning and painting over and over…so this is why i ask if there is a way to fill (like photoshop) a texture on model.

no there is no way to do that…

my workaround is… save the scene… strg+s
open up the layer in PS and do the painting/colorcorrections there…
back in mud refresh selceted layer…

if you are working with uv tiles this could be a pain…

or flatten the model to uvs…

sorry one more question…

When i scale the texture down using in the viewport…is it safe to assume that mudbox will still apply the texture with its original resolution? i mean does scaling it visually in the viewport affect the final texture resolution output?
