Hi,
I am using Windows and I am facing this problem while look developing something in Arnold.
Whenever I edit my textures and try to rewrite it on top of the texture that my asset is using, I get a warning message similar to this; Which says - “file in use, cannot overwrite.”
This happens only when I use Arnold. VRay & Mental Ray doesn’t give this warning and I am able to rewrite the texture with those engines.
With Arnold no matter what, I have to keep two different versions of any texture and keep rewriting on the one which is not being used.
For example: scleraVein.<udim>>tif and I need another one scleraVein1.<udim.>tif
And whenever I return to my paint programme to make changes I do make sure Arnold’s IPR is not running. The warning message makes sense if IPR is running.
Mari however does rewrite when exporting without any error. The problem is Arnold doesn’t recognize this change and it keeps crashing (or corrupting) the fileTexture node, not sure what Maya does - the texture doesn’t load any more unless I create a new fileTexture node.
(Photoshop will not rewrite unlike Mari)
I was wondering if there is any workflow for this?
Thank You!
