FFX color blending problem

hi.

i’m doing some smoke puffs smashing into each other
each of puffs has a different color, so they can blend and mix nicely

i’m happy with the dynamics and moves, but sometimes, the colors desaturate and tend to white (on the left), where i would like to keep them strong, like on the right side.

anybody has an idea what is causing this, and how it can be fixed ?

There are a few different ways to color smoke and some can be combined. I would have to see a sample of your setup. You can PM me if you prefer.

How are you coloring? Via swatch or effector?

Curious, are you lighting the smoke with lights or are you using the Ambient render control?
