I think that is looking pretty nice, lots going on and the dog rocks bouncing up and down!
I am sure Omar will be able to help you out if you are still having problems but i think it looks pertty damn cool.

Looking really good now
DON’T TOUCH what you have , send me that file.
I will show you some small adjustment to make to the final pose
with a video , you can then go in and clean it then finalize it.
Hope you had a good holiday and glad to have you back in action ![]()
Juan here is my video comments to help you with the finalizing of shot 3.
You can make the adjustments to the file you have.
This shot is almost done, can’t wait to start rendering it !

.
I’ve been working on all the filler shots.
That would be 4,6 and 7 . I rendered them all in full.
But they all need some work to fine tune them .
So just to show some of what I’ve been doing.
Just for the fun of it , I made sort of a tutorial,
to show how I smashed the lamp in shot 7 , with the use of particles.
I’m not sure if I like it but, it works if it looks really bad I
will go back to the use of hand animating the smash.
Here are the tutorials in 3 parts.

And here is a link to the final shot.
I’ve done 2 versions, one with small and one with larger particles.
Let me know what you guys think , what version should I use or should I do it by hand ?

2nd one, 2nd one, 2nd one
The big chunk going directly to the camera rocks. No doubts.
I guess we all made the same choice for shot 7.
I like that one too, but was not too sure.
I’ve started to edit the shots together so that I can see the flow
of the animation so far.

Over all pretty good,
I’ve had to trim some of the main shots down some.
Just to keep the momentum of the ball going.
So it is always good to have a bit extra animation at the start and end
of the shots that can be trimmed to fit.
I think shot 6 needs to be re-shot.
it’s a bit short and does not read well,
not to mention there is no animation on the boy.
I put the shot numbers at the top of the frame
as well as the frame numbers at the bottom.
Here are the things that I think can be improved for each shot.
Feel free to add in you comments if you have any input .
SHOT 4:
Nothing really to fix in this shot.
Of course we will still need to put in the backdrop behind the fence.
I also may put the camera a bit higher to make it look more like we are
looking down from a eye level not the ground level.
SHOT 5:
This is one of my favorite shots no changes here.
SHOT 6:
As I said need allot of work…
We will need to see the boy falling down hitting the ground
at the start to follow up from shot 5.
The dog needs to be put in the shot (maybe).
We need to see more of the direction of the ball and
hint more at its target … maybe show it going into
the sky then falling down toward the junk pile.
SHOT 7:
Not much to fix here. Maybe animate the wire for the plug
starting to fall.
SHOT 8:
It got cut down the most to keep the pace.
But also is the longest shot of the bunch.
No real fixes, other then the back drop over the fence.
Maybe too many particles falling too.
That’s it for now shot 3 will be the next shot to add on
to the start of this.
its really taking great form
I agree on shot 6 its a bit short maybe focus on his head or something? make him blink a couple of times you know like he lost his mind for a minute there.
ah yes and a tiny little crit in shot 8 at the a moment the hair goes through his head and pops out straight after? think you already saw it probably but not sure so
ah yes from next week got two weeks of nothingness so if there are some things left to model let me know
cheers
jozef
Yep I see that hair thing in shot 8 but didn’t think anyone would care ,
but as always people always seem to catch me slacking LOL
Well if you feel the mood to model anything…
Check this post you can pick from any of the houses or vehicles.
If you pick a house you can also use the parts from the house you made for the boy’s house.
See you around.
Ooooooo Modelling!!
I guess I missed that post
What is not being modelled and maybe I will have a stab at some stuff this weekend
Cheers
I am back working at FETCH again.
I have worked almost everything Omar said in my shot but the laughing at the end.
you may not see the difference, but I worked a lot on the f***g dog.
This shot is taking me a ton of time, because I didn´t know how to work with the biped like I do with bones, now I know, but this thing is already messed up.
Hopefully the next one will go better and faster.
Anyway, I wanted to ask Omar:
Can you reweight the dog´s back right leg for the next shot? because it´s broken. the other legs are ok, but that one is just driving me crazy. We are not going to change it for this shot, but we can improve it for the rest. Also if you can somehow fix the rig, we all be happier!!
I mean:
This way you dont have to dig into the rig and the bones, because it gives some problems and makes it slower and harder to animate.
Anyway, if you don´t have the time or anything, that´s fine.
You’re about to cross the finish line with this shot.
The boy is looking tight now, it reads well.
My render finger is itching, ready to render it.
Last things, some hair animation, don’t need to go crazy on the hair
just some movement so it’s not stiff. And of course the laugh.
Then you are done. I will tweak the dog skinning before I render it.
I think that leg bone flips too when you move it .
That is my fault too…
I apologize for the dog rig, I know it’s a mess.I really rushed it for shot 1.
A good person to help with this is Jon “Omega 3D.” He also did a dog rig.
His rig is more complex then mine but the skinning needs some work.
I will see if I can track him down and see if we can tweak it for you.
That dog animation looks great considering what you had to work with.
That is why it is so great working with you, even tough things may not work that good
you still do your job well !

The next shot for you may be the re-animation of shot 6.
The boy falling to the ground, should be a easy one I hope.:hmm:
I may have to prepare it for you , so I will try to get started on it.
Unless you want me to work on a file you have, because you may have all
your layers and selections set up on the file you work with ?
Let me know… LATER.
My last update. There is some funkyness in his right arm when kicking the ball, I will clean it up when I discover how ( no idea where it came from…), just left the hair and touch the laugh a bit, just wanted to know if that kind of laugh was Ok.
I am just so fed up of this shot :banghead::banghead::banghead:
I agree time for this shot to retire. I think we can call it the end for this shot.
As for the laugh may be a bit over acted… just wanted you to bounce him up and down
a bit just to keep him moving… It may get cut out in the editing process.
So it just so he does not freeze.
I will take it from here , just send me the last 2 versions you have done .
I will mix and match what I like… and do the clean up stuff.
You can take a break, give me some time to prep the next shot for you.
That is if you are still up to do another one ? I’m feeling a bit burnt out myself.
So it may take me a week or 2 to get back my energy to push this back up to speed.
I will also need some time to work on my demo reel.
Let me know when the files are on the server.
Thanks and much respect to the work and time you have put in
cool work Juan as always keep it up u are doing great
one crit the dog takes long time jumping over the ball  don`t know if u want that omar but
he really takes long time
well yeah u two can take a break things were kinda slowing down these days grrrrrrr I hate
when this happen
good luck my friend I`am sure it will contain very cool things
Hey all, long time no posts from me.
Your overall progress looks amazing, congrats!
I wanted to say I caught another freelance gig after the New Year, so I was very tied up on time. As things are going, I will most likely start a full time job now, so my work on fetch is now in question.
I haven’t made any work in the meantime regarding this, sorry. Actually, I haven’t even posted here since December, I think.
cheers and good luck!
Ain’t it the truth…been smelling some stuff getting toasty over on this end too…You’ve done amazing work in a short time…all round RESPECTS! :buttrock:
Too bad the collabs in here don’t get a bit more of a pump up from CGT. :hmm:
Well, I will take some holydays from FETCH. When I burn myself out I just make crappy animations… That´s the problem or working late night…
Take a break Omar, spend some time with your girlfriend, have some sex if you have the chance:)…
You can join the break, Tony! No, you´d better keep working.
Softy (can I call you that?), you are damn right, COME ON CGTALK, HELP THIS COLLABORATIONS, GIVE US SOME CREDIT OR SOMETHING, people is working a lot in here!!
Divanovic, my friend!! we are still waiting to see that fancy salt dancing on the kitchen floor!
Glad you got a job you like. One day I might get one, you will see.
Anyway, I will be checking your work, and will be back to work in some weeks.
Keep it up
