Lovely work. Very real. Reminds me of an altar-piece.

One crit, and it’s a minor one, the whites of the eyes seems bit waxy.

#47

MOdelling and texturing is awesome! Rendering is realistic too. Look at the eyes…she’s dead again :frowning:

#48

Really nice work Jonas! I saw it over at zbrushcentral first, so I was looking forward to seeing how it would turn out.

Btw, I look forward to meet you in person on monday.

Keep it up!

Hello,
Many people ask about the skin shading.
Im using a modified version of the subsurface and base.mi that you can find attached to this post. Just replace the old once (but make a backup first!!!) and then you will have a Skin 2 displace shader. The only new thing is the new reflection parameters that has a distance falloff that will speed it up a lot, especially in heavy scenes. There is also a specular bump slot where you but the mr bump node with you bump map. This bump will only affect the specular component, not the diffuse, great for skin. Some of the default settings of the skin shader has also changed a bit to better suit my needs.

I also attached some of the textures Im using. It is still very important that the textures are well made… the Miss shaders are great, but they dont fix bad textures!
The Diffuse and the Bump is done in 8K while the others are around 1024 and smaller.

Beautiful work, that skin looks amazing. For some reason the shroud-thing around her head bugs me slightly but the lady herself - no crits, just amazing :).

#53

Hi Jonas
GREAT work!! it is quite near the perfection. I hope your other projects come out so good as this one.
Have a good time in your country!!

#54

Well done! I like the eyes area

#55

Very very photorealistic. I don’t think I even would have guessed this was rendered if it was posted on some photography site. Just amazing!

#56

Very very nice!

My only crits would be the eyes. They seem to be a bit too dim I’d say. Also they don’t contain any veins and irregularyties

Anyways, superb work, especially the textures and shaders :buttrock:

from me :applause:

mmm, for sure, as i know you, Nathalie POrtman ain’t really far, right?

I’m really glad to see some fresh stuff from yours in here, especially since i was bugging everyone around on the job you did at 263. Here is a good exemple to show’em!

Have fun in Sweden, take some rest as well, and congrats.

#58

freakin awesome.

great texturing work man.

#59

Hi, nice work how did u do to get the texture looking like that!

#60

I really really like it. I love it when people add skin imperfections (although, I don’t consider them imperfect) to their CG faces. Adds so much more realism. Good job.
