Female Face Study, Jonas Thornqvist (3D)

Amazing ! , I’m speechless …looks like the real thing .

#80

Brilliant!

(If you don’t mind: some more water in the eyes and consider painting a bit less cajal - but this is completely a matter of taste, don’t read this)

#81

:bounce: :bounce: awesome skin shading.
how long it took to render

Hey søta bror.

Jonas, please please please please post some screengrabs from your scene. Lights and MR (shader and renderer) setup would be so immensely helpful. I have a character that I’ve put some time into, and it looks pretty good (of course not comparing myself to your work, but for me its pretty good), but I can’t seem to get those last steps to where it looks super-pro like yours. Shading, lighting and rendering would surely do lots for my final image. So pleeeeease post some grabs so that I may catch some tips from you

Cheers

This one is awesome, great work !

#84

absolutely impressive work, looks great. :applause: 5*

#85

i likeeee it so mush
its so real
i think that i adore this girl
great work man…:wavey:

#86

astonishing shaders/texturing and detail.

only criticism would be that IF it IS supposed to be natalie portman, some of the bone structure is a tad off (nose structure and outer jaw, i think).

otherwise, i cant think of any improvement.

i would be interested in seeing this same model with different skin shades… i.e. how the features and textures would look with darker skin complexion and perhaps different hair/head props.

#87

It’s really nice to see a CG person who doesn’t look like an excessively-airbrushed supermodel

I don’t think it gets any better than this - awesome, breathtaking.

The most realistic cg human I’ve seen up to now. Great work.
However I do think the skin still looks a bit like wax.
If I cover her forehead when watching it looks better. Maybe the bump/displacement is a little too strong on the forehead.
Plus the eyes might be a little too clean.

Anyway great work and one of the very few women on cgtalk that actually are beautiful.

Daaaaaaaaamn this is goooood!! Thanks for the great tips on how you made the maps ect for this really helpful…

#92

i think you should use separate different maps for the eye lashes. they look identical.

other than that… INCREDIBLE JOB!

#93

Excellent! The skin looks very realistic!

#94

i can’t beleve it. at first i thought it was a painting and no. it’s 3d model. wow you have done an amaizing job. congrads.

#95

Beyond excellence.

My only problem is the white of the eyes looks “milky” and dark and perhaps too far apart and/or perfect mirrored.

But really outstanding. The cloth is perfect and skin texturing is excellent.

Overall: A++

#96

Simply stunning detail!

#97

If I wanted to render skin like the person who started this thread, does anyone know where I should start? Are there any tutorials that I can follow?

I know it involves subsurface scattering but I don’t know where to start.

I was looking at the “Subsurfacing 101” page and tried to click on the link
http://www.alias.com/eng/members/missing_link.shtml but it says it’s no
longer available.

Where would I need to go to download the shader?

Or mayde I think should be…
