FEEDBACK: Post here your take on the old challenges!
Here is a repost of an animation I did with a past challenge. let me know what you all think
Thank You
Hello everyone i am an architecture student and this is my first challenge. I’d love to hear some critiques, and advices since i am a newbe to the 3D world. Thanks in advance =)
Looks very much like a photo to my eyes. In reality however there would be some variation in the reflectance on the surfaces. A bit of grease and some fingerprints. Maybe a bubble or two in the coffee and some steam?
Hello to all,
so a bit of feedback in reverse order
@Mohamed Fouhad, great start, even if the image looks a bit too bright and it’s difficult to focus. Also you should check the shadow of the horse (that seems pointing on the left instead of all the other lights that point on the right)
@Eric-Harvey I agree with cgx. Your image looks great but I will add just a bit of scratches to make it perfect the plastic red material is just soooo cool
@demondandrea. It’s a good start, the shaders (the tree mainly) need rework while the lighting is start to get in shape. The lamp and the light coming from window seems a bit too strong, try to apply a linear decay to them. Also before shading you can give it a try with just a grey shader to better focus on lighting
@nate the animation is so cool about lighting and shading, you probably need to contrast a bit more (it looks a bit monotone). how did it take to render ? I’m quite curious about it
@ marco. The corridor scene looks a bit flat. I will add contrast and why not also a bit of volumetric to the whole scene and also a bit of variety to the shader (more colors) that you can tone down in post the fruit bowl looks cool. The shaders are a great start, banana textures look good while the orange probably is a bit too big (the bump map) Also I would make the grapes a bit less shiny and more SSS. the lighting should be more contrast. That’s a great start indeed
@Galele. I like the overall image feeling, very warm. I will blur also the tree on the right and make the background a bit less darker in order to focus better on the cabin
@nader, pls report your image I cannot see it
@syale12 the image is too compressed (jpg artifacts) but it look cool indeed. I know that probably the teenager in the room loves red, but the cup, lamp, and amplifier buttons look too much alike Everything would need a bit of grunge added (the floor is very shiny and look wet, and also the gym weight are not so reflective in real life). I love the light coming from the window and I will dim just a bit the lensflare (it’s ok but the point on the left of the image looks a bit distracting)
So also I would like to apologize to give this feedback so late, but something went wrong with the notification I receive.
Great works to all and I will be glad to help more and give more feedback
Giorgio
I want to tell me your opinion is also in the common weaknesses among my work
thank you

Hi
So glad to see this thread is back. Here are some of the images I came up with. All done through Maya using Vray.
Can I request anyone to add another download link to the Ando house file. I want to light the scene in Unity to see how well the real time GI works with interiors but the zip file is corrupt and will not extract.
Guy Schuleman
Very Nice work, your Lighting is Good. I like the bright happy lighting you did for a scene that you would normally expect to be dark and gritty. (The interior robot one).
Hello All,
My contribution to the challenge 41 :
Nature morte
Maya + Mental-ray
Color corrected in Photoshop
Great entry ! I will work a bit on the leaves and also add a dirt mask on the reflections of the metals. Your work is always great !
