Hi the last time I wrote about problems with “paths” in Animation Master I got some very helpful information. However on checking back for the information on measureing the length of a path , I find the thread can’t be found. I recall someone explain the it was possable to get the length of the path by right clicking on it and then scrolling down the pop up menu to " Measure Spline".

Well it took me four hour to final get the pop up menu to select the Spline. Now I have the measurement I am still not sure what to do with it. I know I need to have my characters stride length to match the lenght of the path.

My maths is not up to scratch. Stuff like that is not easy to remember when you working on animation.

You don’t need to have the stride length match the path length exactly. What you do is this:

(First it’s easier to do the math if you set your measurements to just centimeters in the options panel. It’s much easier than feet and inches if math isn’t your strong point.)

Measure the path by right(PC)/control(Mac) clicking on it (like you said you did).

Measure the stride length of your character in the walk action.

With a calculator, enter the length of the path (in centimeters), hit the divide button and enter the stride length (in centimeters), hit the equals button. The results are the number of times the walk action should repeat to go the length of the path without a lot of foot slippage.

I wrote this very simply, not to be condescending, but to be very clear and easily understood.

Gee Thanks
the simple asnwers are the best. I have to knock AM there. Setting the pace for a character is not as easy as the AM mauel makes.
Once again thanks for the help.
