I’m using this lesson (link).
I imported a makehuman model to *.dae and then to stage, and replaced incorrect opacity settings. Then I created a spline based on some polygons of the model’s eye. (I received a warning before entering to edit poly mode because of skin n stack)
To increase the number of the spline vertices I applied divide to some of its edges. Then I made three copies of the spline.
The create line operand didn’t connect any vertices, it just created line in the distance. So, I attached all splines to the first one and used cross section.
After that, I deleted unnecessary edges and applied smooth to the vertices of the former middle spline.
When I rendered the splines I got a large mesh looking not like them. Enable in viewport option produced it too.

It turned out, that collada import did something with coordinates. Switching thickness to 0.001 helped.
