Exported Model Vertices are Breaking?

Hi

I exported a model which is modeled in Edit Poly to .3DS format. when I re import that model I found some of the vertices are broken, hence, my polygons are splitting from the mesh and the model is looking uneven at some places. I had done so many things like assigning same smoothing IDs, converting to edit mesh before exporting… nothing works. What could be the problem & how to fix this. I want the model to be exported to.3DS

As far as I know that is a limitation of the 3ds format, try saving it in another format.

Hmmm, thinking about this my friend had a similar problem with exporting.

I would sugest breaking up the model in to sections, and then explorting them either all in one go, if that doesn’t work, export each part seperate.
