Aaah Lemog, you posted while I was posting too; You are so kind. I love the way you write. Those details you talked about… You are so correct. And yes I would love to work on them to make this piece complete.

@Becca, lady! go to bed, NOW!

As I explain yesterday about the Humano-IDs, I’ve start a sort of comic strip… of the story of “Mother Nature”… but not having enough time, I didn’t finish it, and I don’t think that I would finish that one day, the page is turned now.
I thus the beginning page, it’s here a little out-subject, but I had shown it to nobody until now.

It’s 3d done with Maya, I use Tomcat shaders, and after, compositing in Photoshop. I think that give an interesting style…

Lemog,

I saw this post this morning before leaving, and totally forgot to reply to it!!! I think this work shows trademark Lemog charm, and the little figures are just downright…cute and adorable!!! Thank you very much for sharing it with us!!!

And what do you mean, ‘Once Upon a Time’? ~We are completely at the mercy of electro~domestic appliances now!!! :scream:

Cheers,

Hi Rebecca

Variety pack - done in Painter

#1 Something to do with the cycle of life. Before conception, conception, to old age, in a continuous circle and cycle with time as center piece.

#2 Another beautiful Boston sunset with Wind Surfer…done from memory

#3 Posted this for Lemog, mostly.

Lemog - really enjoyed your Mother Nature piece. Really masterful use of lighting.
Gives it that oneness. Ties it together nicely. Great.

Here is my take on Mother Nature. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed your piece. Had to do the figure from imagination. No model or reference availablew for the pose so it might not be totally acurate but feels good to my eye anyway.

Rebecca - You were absolutely right about the thigh face and color on my reclining nude figure. Made adjustments. Think you will be pleased. Will post in a couple of days. Working on hair and arched tree branch. Keeping vague as you suggested.
Great eye there teacher.

Thanks and Take Care
Glenn

I love really much this new “Mother Nature” and his sarcastic glance. It’s felt ready to put a term at the life on ground, to put a term at the life of all those which wasted the life, all those which didn’t respect life.
She’s perhaps not sarcastic, but quite simply lucid. All to destroy for all to rebuild, here’s the good idea, it’s also that which justifies the bright colors, because that will certainly be followed of a rebirth of our world, of a better world.
Thank you Glenn for this vision.

In another kind, I like also much # 2, the contrast of a city which seems to fall asleep and stop functioning, and of this wind surfer, full with energy and power. :bounce:

Well… I know… it’s near to be horrible… It’s just a little test under Painter… quickly made… less of 10 minutes.
It’s a memory of a travel in april 2005, in the south of france, the Camargue country… this picture is very typic of the country… vegetation, and much water… and so… this floating trunk.

.: HIGH RESOLUTION :.

Spirit Dreamer,

More cool work from you! One thing I have to say is that I think your work would be more interesting if you painted more, and relied less on filters and effects. I know you do artwork for your own pleasure and enjoyment, so please take my comments with a grain of salt. But you are such a wonderful painter, that I really miss the quality that is so apparent in your figure paintings for the OFDWs than your other works which rely more heavily on optical effects and filters. Clearly you can get by without them ~ and I think you would create more dynamic compositions should you ‘purely’ paint. Truly this takes more effort, but I think in the long run you would have a more satisfying result. Do not take this the wrong way, Spirit Dreamer! I like your work, but just feel strongly that your work could be that much stronger should you tone down the colors a bit and work out compositions the old fashioned way.

Lemog,

This is not horrible, it’s just a start! Do you plan to go further with it? If you do, I would just recommend using some reference ~ usually what we remember is not that detailed, and it can really help to be looking at something, like we are with the OFDWs. None of us would be able to take our paintings to the high level of finish and detail without reference there, and the same is also true with landscapes and such.

I really like the neutral palette and the sense of their being a ‘sandy’ texture to the painting. I think it’s all about values, and making one thing a central focal point / point of interest ~ as right now the viewer’s eye roams freely in rather a straight line across the picture. But I really like the painterliness of this piece, and it would be cool to see you take it further, and finish it!

Cheers guys!

Lots of lovely detail to this Spirit Dreamer. I want to know what she is thinking. Like to glowing crystal. Interesting familiar too. Your painting of the man on the ski in the water is amazing.

Lemog…you did this in Painter? It looks just like watercolor. Very nice.

Spirit Dreamer,

Nice piece! I think that the far eye looks like it is a bit too much on the same plane as the near eye ~ perhaps it could be a bit softer / darker / recessed? It’s a very cool experiment ~ I’d love to see you buckle down and paint without some of the smudge tools, as I think it would give you the freedom to more directly draw / paint, which you are completely capable of doing…keep the good work coming!

Cheers!

I just did this for the dsg… It’s a depiction of a level of hell. Took me about1,5 to 2 hours.

it started as an outlet and figure study but the figure was done in 15 minutes (probably even less). SO I went ahead and los my mind. heheh.

Not saying hope you like. But I’m curious what you guys think. I think the composition is crap except for what it might convey.

maybe I should be mre intuitive in my painting style because my other wip looks concucted compared to these more loose lines. More sketchin for me.

Jan-Mark,

Hey, I really like this! I think it would be cool if the figures all sort of emerged out of wispy smoke, as they look a bit hazy etc. to begin with. Ever looked at the work of Kathe Kollwitz? Here is an example of her work:

Amazing etcher and draftswoman. Definitely check out her stuff, I think you’d really like her work.

Hmm yeah looks cool. You have a keen eye.

ABout the mist and such I just didn’t want to work o such effects anylonger, just wanted to study some expressions an d figure renderings. more than half of the time went into the effects eventually, and it’s unwieldy the smoke and what not, lol.

Thnaks for the link. ANd I might just try some more things with the pic. Depends ( on some ‘urh… what’s next’s’ lol)
