Hi,

I am looking for a good rubber eraser. The one I use is smearing. Any recommendations are most welcome.

thanks in advance

I like Pink Pearls. They make those trapezoidal shaped monsters, but they also make this neat pencil style one. I like to shave the tip down with an xacto knife so I can do really detailled erasings.

Pink Pearls are great. You might feel off put about them because they are cheap and you might remember them from grade school but they take out prismacolor pencil pretty good. Another one I use is a pen type eraser called Tuff Stuff eraser (link). This one is pretty good too. No smearing that I can tell.

thanks guys, I will try one of these Pink Pearls, not sure if I get one here in Germany though. Fortunatly there is an art shop just aroundmy corner.

In addition to the Pink Pearls, I rather like the white plastic ones, too.

Staedtler Kneadable Art Erasers. I knead them up so I have a tip like a pencil and then I just gently touch the pencil marks. It takes a little off at a time which is great for that fading effect. Doesn’t tear the paper. Reusable. Staedtler should be paying me money for this endorsement!

thanks for the recommendations guys!

I second this one. If you are doing fine work and don’t want to alter the surface of your paper this is the way to go. It does take some time, but you don’t damage the paper.
