Really a great image Paul!
Love the and colours and feel of the whole thing.

My only concern is the orange part in the back that sort for messes with the feeling of perspective and depth. The dark orange tube is pointing to the left of the “camera” (if you know what I mean).

Butt apart from that, great stuff!

hi.
love the style!!
watching to see what comes next!!!:applause:

cheers.

Hi this is looking very good indeed - the detail and scale is impressive. The design of the VTOL works very well with its arching wings and it conveys the sense of the teams journey ahead very aptly. There is one minor thing that occured to me - it might help to support the story if there were some small interior lights (in the cockpit for example) as this would give the impression of gearing up for ‘take-off’ as it were.

#48

Wow, looks like someone actually read the books. Looks very promising.

I found, that if you want to glean all of the descriptive details about the Thistledown, one needs to read all three books in the series.

Note, the Flaw does not run continuously through the chamber end-caps. The Flaw in the Way ends at the 6th chambers endcap, and the Plasma Tube picks up where the Flaw leaves off. But artistic license can override accuracy, if necessary.

I should add; Speaking as a huge fan of the Trilogy, (having read it twice), I think this is the best entry so far.

#49

Good colors and texture but the whole thing looks way too small…like a tiny corridor…try making it more dramatic…increase the scale of the whole thing…

Paul - Looking good with all of the lighting. One area that’s hard to read right now is the screen-left wing. It’s the same value (and the same hue) as the background behind it. If the distance is warm and the foreground is gcool, what if the ship in the foreground were more cool-colored. Or perhaps the background can be a bit darker in that area to help that wing stand out more. Just some ideas, good luck wiht it!

thanks everybody for the feedback. much appreciated…

mike - i can kinda see what you mean. on that left wing…will look into that , kinda bugs me too looking at it again…

overall i agree with pretty much everybody on your crits…
the colours i like too but that back orange area is likely to change . . .
proly not working on this for a while due to heavy work load right now.
just wanted to say thanks to everyone and goodluck.

Avery nice scene… I love the lighting work on it… nice retro looking v/tol… If you fix what warlus suggested (which by the way, i didn’t even notice at first) it will improve even further…

that last update with red and blue gives depth to an image, so stick to that color scheme. I also really love the blaze, gives so much action, dynamic and speed to the whole piece… so simple and powerfull. keep up the good work!

#57

More, more, more Its been a long time since a update I’d sure hate to see this one die.

#58

#62

and here we are folks, i’m done.

just for clarification, this is the scene from the book in which the main charactors are preparing to launch.

all done in photoshop with custom brushes and with minor help from my cat dusty whom refuses to get off my wacom.

all in all this was alot of fun.
thanks all for your feedback as it was very much appreciated.
