Thanks Sacha! Isn’t it time for you to win this one though?

And speaking of Greg Bear, I like him and to date I’ve read:
Eon
Eternity
Legacy
The Forge of God
Anvil of Stars
Queen of Angels
Moving Mars
Psychlone
Beyond Heaven’s River
and
Blood Music

Good luck everyone,

hey !!! welcome dude! Se you’re the guy to be asking details in the story. Good luck!

#5

Best of luck JTD!

#6

Thanks for the welcome Jan-Mark and Rebecca! Actually, I read Eon probably about 15 years or so ago so as for the details, I’m in the same boat as you!

#7

What, you read all those books, including ‘Queen of Angels,’ but not ‘Slant?’ Well, get to that in all your free time!
Best of luck in the Challenge!

So what images from the book are jumping out at you. Good luck on the challenge it is an awesome topic!

#9

I’ve read nearly all his books. I haven’t found one to date I haven’t read. Eon is pretty good, definately one of my favorites.

It has been a while, so I’ll probably re-read it. I imagine you, like me have alot of images popping into your head… This will be a very challenging challenge. The nature of the environment will make it difficult to render.

Well very good luck to you!

Thank you HammaJamma for stopping by. The one thing that always stuck with me was the last room in the asteroid, which was of course “a world within a world”. And the character without a nose. But I’ll have to read up and familiarize myself with it again. Good luck to you my friend!

#11

teeeheee hey there great to see you’re here also JDT  i hope you have alot of fun on this one

#12

Walrus, where’s your entry? Are you taking a break or have you surpassed that genius level where you now only give lectures at universities?

Queen of Angles was hard to get through with the lack of punctuation (on purpose) in certain areas and the different story lines that didn’t exactly merge. I guess you could say it put a slant on reading Slant.

#13

I’m trying to remember the name of the city in the center of the way… Love all the “people” so much potential for artistic interpretation. I think I know where I’m going to start my illustration, but need to sit down and sketch it…

#14

Well, I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t read any of his books, but that will be easily solved soon. Good luck John.

#15

As for my joining with an entry, I don’t know. I haven’t decided yet. I do silly art, and have really been concentrating on making my portfolio more unified and solid. I love Greg Bear, but I’m not sure if Eon artwork is really what I need in my portfolio. But there’s time: even before the challenge was announced, I’d been wanting to reread Eon, so I’ll do that and then decide if I want to enter or not.
