Environment: Mermaid River/The last one

#1

Ive wrote the folowing text to inspire me paint this one:
"The time of the gods has passed and wile everything was falling apart, one among all others escaped, adventuring into the sweet water, now she is the last one of her kind, diferent and introspective on its inner world. She cry for her lonlyness, and wile walking in the banks of this old river sometimes her wept can be heard. her broken heart desiring desparetely to be accepted into this world.

Painted with painter and colour balanced in photoshop, with a japanese feel in mind."

And a detail:

This is lovely, Orly.

My only grumble, as opposed to a crit, is in the form of a question. Why knees? If she’s half fish, or half dolphin for that matter, all of those lovely strong muscles and the flexability of a continued spine will help her swim so much better. End of grumble.

keight, perfecti:

Thnx for your comments, I´ve previously reflected about her knees and I mainly decided for them whem I notest everyone uses the half fish part as if it has a fish spine, (perhaps its why it looks weird?) so I went for something diferent, but hey, I´m not trying to justify myself. Afterall I havent tryed to do it in the other way.
Anyway, I apreciated!

Great choice of the color and the background does give off that classic Japanese water painting feel.

I think it is great you tried doing something different with her “fish-part”… The fact that you can see her knees and upperlegs makes the transition between human and animal more natural imo…
Great job!
