Environment: Girl in the bathroom

#29

Thanks to all for your posts. Yes, the girl is the critical point of the image. Many people I showed the image as WIP told me to let her out of the image to achieve a higher level of realism, but for me personally it was more important to have some living content in it than to make another photorealistic interieur-visualisation. And I tried a lot to make her as realistic as possible for me, but my knowledge about characters and skin ist just too low yet.

About the foam: Its nothing special, no displacementmapping, just a map, which I painted based on an foam-pattern in photoshop and combined it in the transparency-, diffuse-, bump and reflexion channel of a raytrace-material. Here is the map, if someone is interested: http://www.framebox.de/creations/3d/bad/foam_bump.jpg
In the final image I made the edge between foam and bathtub in photoshop a little bit irregular, which could have also been achieved by little geometry noise on this edge.

Awesome work, Very well done.
That chick is cool, although if you take the image into PS and increase the levels you can’t see her nipples. You should put them in there.

Other than that, brilliant stuff:thumbsup:

#31

Wow, you need a girlfriend! You really did that?

#32

Hi frameboX,

 Excellent image and I agree with most of what has been said re: the girl and some of the lighting comments.

I would add that some subtle volumetirc light would really help sell the image. Really blow that end of the room up into strong sunlight.

regards

Say the bubble in the bathtub for example, true beautiful.
Great wook!

Very nice work here! I have to agree with some of the other posters that the girl is the weak link in this wonderful render. The rest of the image is very nicely done!

love it all

Pretty awesome. I love the skewed camera angle, thats just killer. The lighting is really awesome. I am just curious, you say that you used MentalRay but not GI or FG. Did you just not enable any of the settings in MentalRay?

But sweet render overall! Great job!

Blimey! I KNOW that bathroom! Seriously… I have seen it before - in real life I mean!

Scene looks great! Foam is very nicely done! Ony crit would be that I’d expect a little bit more light on the character’s face… Otherwise, top job!

#45

I really like the atmosphere ya got going on there. I would only say that I think more light would bounce around in a room with shiny reflective tiles everywhere. The water and bubbles in the tube look sweet too.

#46

Nice work. I’m gonna be useless though and just agree to what others have been saying about the lighting

#47
