Here’s my first (still very) WIP for the challenge. I still need to do a whole lot of work on this one.
I think the waterfall in the back looks a bit too icy. I’m also thinking about putting something like “the city of Petra” behind it (you know, like in Indiana Jones 3) to give it a more “classical” fairytale-style. The front still needs a lot of detailing. And I want to put something really scairy on the tree crossing the stream.

try to make your colors a little more varied. shift the color in the shadows and in the light. don’t just add black or white. That is a painting no no 
I love the Petra idea. That place is cool.
Yes you’re right about that. I just got bored with the stones and trees, and started working on a character (no, not the scairy one).
She’ll be sitting on the piece of wood in the front of the picture.

if she’s going to be scared of the thing on the log, maybe she’d be, uh, turning towards the viewer to run?

do you freehand these girls?, are they based from pictures? or are you rotoscoping them? she looks great have her tilt forward a bit so we can see her…uh nevermind

How is it that everyone is so far ahead of me already on this? Maybe I just work slowly … :hmm:
Anyway, beautiful work on the girl! I like the dragonfly wings but I’m not sure where she’d find stockings and gloves in the forest? Maybe it’d look just as good with cameoflaged skin in these areas? You know, like chetah spots or tiger stripes … just a thought.
Keep going, it looks great! 
Very nice. I really like where the wings attach to the body. Maybe you could do more with this? Or have them more intertwined with the skin, rather than just sitting on top. Speaking of wings, those don’t really look like they would be able to get her off the ground. Just some stuff to think about. But beautiful work.
Oh man, I was so bored with all the trees and rocks that I couldn’t get myself back to it… and I started doing this lady for fun. Then I got the idea for this:
“Giant-lady in an ‘attack of the clone-trees’-forrest”.
I will see if I ever finish the first forrest.

maybe the forest could be made of huge naked women, sort of land of the giants crossed with the electric ladyland cover…yeah, that’s the ticket…

I’m working on that forrest as we speak (-type, whatever). Just trying to put in a lumberjack aswell. And it’s 1:10 in the morning here now, and I also want to get some sleep this night.
