#5

wow, Nice start! I like your character! :bounce: Good luck!

#6

heres some early lighting tests, theres still ALOT of things missing . this is 3 1/2 hours of work so far. i’ll continue tommorow… The hands and small details will make a big difference, the lighting is still off but im figuring out how to make it work…

thanks folo

I like it! It’s got a real creepy kinda’ storybook feel to it.

You might want to make the path a bit more narrow in the distance though.

#8

Good start, the only thing I’d suggest would be to not just cut and paste a single tree for the forest, but have different ones; define the character on tghe road a little more, as it’s not clear at the moment if it’s a male/female child/adult; and finally, alter your brushes a bit so as to avoid that photoshop airbrush look.

keep us posted!

youre right i am going to change the trees i just put them in real quick to see how the composition would work. i have never used any other PS brush i will experiment and see, the character below is not even 1% completed, the whole thing is FAR FROM DONE. thanks

#10

Hey I like it!

#11

yah cool ,good character

#12

a little further along still needs work below on the ground, especially the grass, and then for last the poor victim, should it be a boy or girl? not sure yet… maybe a girl …im going to add more trolls to the tree too make it look like a whole community. I also notice that the trees need to be darkend towards the back they are all the same color preety much thats no good, i’ll fix that tonight.

#13

cool,
Make it a boy with his dog.

Is it just me or do you feel a little neglected here on the 2D challenges. I feel like the red headed step child that no one talks to at family get toethers.

#14

totally we are so not loved…lol, but thats ok because from what ive seen the best 3D artist are the ones that can pick up a pencil and let it rip…

#15

Amen Bro!

#16

egad, I’m dyin’ trying to keep up with all the threads on this one, let alone the 2D…:argh:

Just wanted to add a “looks cool” anyway tho, because it does.

I think one of the reasons there isn’t more crossover is at least for me, all I can do is sit back and admire, like you said, there are far less people who can bust out righteous 2D and 3D…though all of them seem to be in this forum…:stuck_out_tongue:

Oh and I guess if it matters, I vote for the boy too…just leave the poor dog alone

#17

coooool :surprised

#18

not much of an update but added some simple atmosphere to the trees… i hate trees. they are a pain in the butt… am i putting too many posts? this is starting to look like a tutorial…hehe

thanks for the comments i think the poor victim is going to have to be a boy majority rules

He man! Just found this thread. Must’ve been browsing this site with my eyes closed. Looks great! Specially love the light of the candle shining at the guy in the middle.

I’m just wondering about something in you composition…
For balance, it really needs something on the road further away. See what you do with it.

I’ll keep following this one.
