You could reverse the angle and have your character jumping out of the tree down upon the unsuspecting victim. That could be equally dramatic.

tee hee. Thanks for all of the feedback guys! sorry aout the long time with no updates. I was in vegas visiting my dad. Also, I’m enlisting in the army on June 16th. Hopefully I’ll be able to get pretty finished with this by then. here’s a small update. I’ll fix the hands gripping the axe soon. But please, feel free to critique the hell out of it.

Nice job, but that shoulder guard looks a little to big. It sticks out to much, and the character is way to stiff. I guess it depends on the situation though, is he being knighted? Seeing as he’s hurt he should maybe be slouching a bit more.

here’s a quick sketch to illustrate my new idea. whereas the other sketch was one of hope (that’s why he stiffened up to try to meet the fairy) this one is of despair. it seems that time has run out for this man. he’s older and more wounded in this one and he’s staring at the fairies with contempt. yes that is a crown lying at his feet. what do you think? (the jpeg’s really compressed)

Lil’ update here. cleaned up the king, and begin on bg. I’ll photoshop in the elves/faeries later. (I’ve been watching WAY too much Lodoss).
