Enchanted forest - character - Cockofthewok

Well, this time like others, I seem to be a day late and a dollar short for the contest. I guess you can’t blame a guy for trying. I wanted to go for sort of an enchanted rainforest feel for my piece. that’s why this character was designed with a veiled chameleon in mind. hope you like my start.

k here’s sort of a convoluted or whatnot sketch I did to get my idea on paper. the idea is this: guy with little axe walking through rainforest ready to chop down some trees. happy and whistling, unaware he has pissed off the wrong creature. mr. tree guardian sitting up in the canopy with an axe that can chop the little man in half. what do yas think?

What I think is that it reminds me a bit too much to elfufu’s thing in the challenge.

I’m working on a new on as we speak. Mr. tree guard is leaping from a tree at YOU with axe brandished.

You could reverse the angle and have your character jumping out of the tree down upon the unsuspecting victim. That could be equally dramatic.

I like the chamelion style feet and tail you gave your dude in that last sketch. Those are definite improovements over the orriginals. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

tee hee. Thanks for all of the feedback guys! sorry aout the long time with no updates. I was in vegas visiting my dad. Also, I’m enlisting in the army on June 16th. Hopefully I’ll be able to get pretty finished with this by then. here’s a small update. I’ll fix the hands gripping the axe soon. But please, feel free to critique the hell out of it.

D’OH! I’m being a god damn post whore again! B.T.W. I’ve been studying the hell out of feng zhu, masamune shirow, and muira kentauro’s work just to name a few. I hope the knowlege will help me on this contest.
