How do I do it?
Go to the Maya Application in the Applications folder. Right click on it and select “Show Package Contents”. Go to the /Scripts/Others folder and find the “mentalrayCustomNodeClass.mel” file. Open this .mel file in a script or text editor.
Inside the “mentalrayCustomNodeClass.mel” file scroll down in the until you see the Production shader section. They’re indicated by the prefix “mip” (mip_matteshadow, mip_cameramap, etc.).
$enableMIPShaders == 0)||
$enableMIPShaders == 1)||
Change the Zero to a “1”. Close the .mel file and Save the changes.
Now when you restart Maya the mip shader nodes will show up in the Hypershade.
You’re awesome - thank you!
