I dont know if anyone has noticed but the leaves in elder scrolls iv are planes that are constrained to the camera associated with your character. they aim at you all the time so you never notice the flat geometry, you really have to look close to notice. I was wondering if anyone knew how to achieve this in maya. I’ve tried countless times to recreate the effect with aim constraints however the leaf planes always seem to roll at certain angles. anytime I try to walk around the tree I can only get maybe 90 degrees before the planes start to roll very unrealistically. does anyone know how a person might set up the constraint that would get the same effect as elder scrolls oblivion?
