The EITG newsletter, when mentioning these Konkeptoine releases, links (by mistake, I think)… to Sonica, that new plugin for Maya!!! http://www.eitechnologygroup.com/products/konkeptoine] (includes a Lovecraftian invocation to Lorem Ipsum, the Ancient Lord of DTP :))
(looking forward to Mrs. Bevel’s release. Will it be a free upgrade?)
Amazing declarations of Mr. John Doe! Sonica seems a very interesting plug in, could be interesting to have something like this in Ei.
BTW, latin is the new 3D language?
FelixCat
I own a bunch of these plug ins. quick question.
I dont see anywhere to upgrade our existing plug ins and what that may or may not cost.
Scott
There is a link within each product that allows you to request an upgrade. As far as I know, most of the upgrades for Konkeptoine are free…however, now that they’re under EI’s control, that might change…but I doubt it.
For those who don’t know…

…And Jens, “ramjacs “Spectrum”… stay tuned…” I hate you when you do that…!
A bit Off Topic
Has anybody used volumetric_conception? how compares with the SSS inside EiAS?
i´m trying to find a good solution for skin, fast (if it´s possible) and realistic.
Thanks for any ideas,
FelixCat
yeah, spectrum would be nice, i did something a few years ago where i took an audio file into AE and got the volume data from that into a spreadsheat in NEOoffice and then transferred it into EIAS. it worked okay, but a fully functional plug-in would be great, that way when i get around to doing the final version of that shot, i don’t have to re-figure out how the heck i did that…and do it better…i’d like to drive a particle system with something like that…
go Jens, go!
Hi FelixCat
Sorry for the tardy response, busy time of year
Right, the difference between VC and EI is essentially that VC shadow transmission only works with buffer shadows and EI shadow transmission only works with RT shadows. This means that VC is considerably faster but uses up more ram (and has to live with the other drawbacks of bitmap shadows). The ‘look’ of the effect is essentially the same for both of them. So if you need fast shadow transmission effects, go with VC, otherwise use EI as the final product will look the same.
Hope that helps!
