EITG acquires Konkeptoine Plugins

San Antonio, TX – November 2, 2007 – EI Technology Group (EITG), developer and publisher of innovative 3D software products, is proud to announce the assumption of the Konkeptoine product line including all 29 plugins, shaders, and product packs.* Starting with the shipment of EIAS v7.0 customers will be able to purchase these products directly from the EITG website. All future updates and support will be available through EI Technology Group.

“I am very excited about incorporating direct plugin sales to our website. This will allow our customers to see more options and easily purchase everything they need in one stop. I hope to add more plugin vendors directly to our website in the near future” says Brad Parscale, President of EI Technology Group.

Konkeptoine has a long history of creating plugins for the Electric Image Animation System. All plugins will still be developed and maintained by the same development team.* Universal Binary port status will be available on the EITG website at http://www.eitechnologygroup.com after release.

Indeed that is very good news.

The first thing I would do if I was EI would be to rename the Conception 3 group of shaders and really push EI ability to do natural environments. For years I missed this brilliant set of plugins because of the name and wished EI had the ability to do landscape shading like Bryce!

Also I would then do a deal with northern light plugin to have a special environment package that includes these shaders alone with Placer and psunanmi. Also in the package there should be some very good tutorials that shows how you can great environments that are just as good and more practical than Vue and similar packages.

Another thing EI could do is buy the Image2Object plugin code and really develop it into a useful terrain builder and add it to the package.

To me fast rendering landscapes has always been one of EI great strength that has never really been pushed

How do I get the UB update of Conception 3 Shader pack? Is it available through EIT now? Thanks. -Doug

Not sure, they’re not showing up on the Konkeptoine page on the EITG site. On Konk’s site it says UB versions are available. I’d send an email to Phil, he’s really good about the konk stuff.
