I would say FBX, but as far as I know, EI still does not export FBX. So I’m really not sure.
I think you can export a camera to After Effects and I think C4D will read AE cameras. So maybe AE can be the bridge.
Hope this helps

You can try:
http://3dmation.com/
Barry Bermann have Mocon, a Importer/Exporter utility
EIAS export .ma (maya) files directly…
I dont know what C4d imports…
Mocon can import/export Maya, After, Nuke, Fusion, EIAS…
Thanksss
Tomas
Maya could also be a potential bridge. EIAS can export Maya cameras directly. You may also wish to look into MoCon.
I bought “CaMaya” a 30 euros plug-in that can import cameras .ma files into Cinema4d.
but for now doesn’t work, i can just import the name of the camera but with no movement.
I asked to programmer about that and he told me:
“the problem seem to be the ASCII Motion version. EIAS export in version 3.0 is very old already.”
So the question is Can EIAS export in ASCII Motion version 4.5 0r 5.5?
I have a lot of camera movement to import into Cinema4d, I really prefer to find a plug-in solution, better than AE way
Thank you for responses
Thats just silly if you ask me. Maya can read in EI camera exported .MA files… why can’t his plugin? All you’re exporting is positional and rotation data, along with some camera lens information.
Here’s a trick. Open the maya file in an asci text editor and hack the version number. I bet you it will read just fine. My guess is his plugin is reading the version number of the asci file and he’s set it to v4 as a minimum.
there is no easy solution for cinema4d users. Sometie ago i found this plug in that exports camera data out of after effects into cinema 4d is some script you have to put in your after effects folder and another into the c4d scripts folder. google it otherwise let me know what is your web address.
Ok good news i found it this might be the way to do it, using after effects as a bridge.

Nice utility.
Cant wait for EIv8!!!
Yeah! solve it!
finally it was a simple space en between two lines.
Arndt von Koenigsmarck, “CaMaya” programer will try to implement a fix for this format variation asap.

So now we have a ONE click solution to translate EIAS Cameras to C4d and vice versa.
Thank you very much for all your help.
Best regards

Hi, I just received a new version of “CaMaya” plug-in that works perfectly translating EIAS to C4d and C4d to EIAS cameras. via .ma files.
thank you to Vreel-3d team for the fast response
Cheers
