Hi i have gather some info from Diego regarding the exporting of Mograph objects from C4D into EIAS. Havent seen the results yet, but i wonder if you can connect Dante to an object sequence?
Thanks,Edgard.
EIAS and RipTidePro and Dante
Hello Edgard,
in C4D you can convert any OBJ sequence to MDD data.
1.- Use Riptide Pro for export Mograph obj secquence.(must be all items linked to a null)
2.-Open the obj sequence in C4D via "fluid container" Xref: (free!)
[http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=830048&highlight=OBJ+sequence](http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=830048&highlight=OBJ+sequence)
3.- Bake the PLA cannel with "Bake2PLA"plugin from AixSponza (free!) on the XRef object that's referencing the .obj sequence.
4.- Export MDD file via MDDIO plugin (free!) ( scale to 1 and bake RST actvated)
5.- Export first .obj (frame 0 and scale to 1)
6.-Convert .obj to .fact (I'm doing with OBJ2Fact, but I have not tested whether other ways works)
7.-Import into EIAS with MDD.plm (free!)
Et voilá,
I don’t know if Dante particles may collide with the MDD file.
Cheers
Diego
Sadly OBJ2FACT is not available for sale anymore.
Have to wait for Ramjac and the new EITG group, as i send yesterday an email to Tomas and Jens.
Jens reply me, so is all in standby.
I might as well use Modo but that option isn´t working for me. Downloaded the script f_sequence and it doesnt work or maybe i donot know how to use it.
But i was thinking in linking these Mograph objects to Dante, the deadlines are getting titer every day so i must find a way to optimized my workflow as Turbulence 4d is very slow IMOP.
I am not looking to manipulate MDD data once in EIAS, just looking for a fast way for these particles to emit other particles.
I will find the way to do this in C4D.
Thanks,
Edgard
Have you tried simply opening the OBJ directly in Animator?
There are 2 methods.
- Object menu -->“Import Object” use “Enable all files” to select OBJs
- File menu --> “Open” this uses the FBX library to open the OBJ as a new “scene” file.
While it does not give you the re-ordering options OBJ2Fac has, both of these methods work with simple models/textures.
Dave
Thanks David,
I should have bought it long time ago, now more than ever i need OBJ2FACT specially for batch import. I will be very trouble some to import my animations made with mograph, guess i will have to be patient. Wonder how come there is no other option for batch import?
Ambient Oclussion in EIAS is super fast now that they have fixed the RPF saver is very convenient to work in 16bit.
Hope for the best ,
Besides i dont even know if obj sequence will work with Dante, can anybody confirm these.
Thanks,
Edgard
Hi Ian,
What i am trying to do in EIAS is bring my Mograph animation and set these objects to emit particles since i have two of the best software for Motion Graphics i need to somehow bring a sequence of obj (Riptide Pro) and link these to Dante since i can save some time creating the anmation in C4D and bring the sequence into EIAS and than the .fbx for camera animation if needed , but i guess with no OBJ2FACT is troublesome to bring each model one by one for rendering imagine 300 frames of importing objects
Another is to bring Paint FX sequences into EIAS, that should be a lot of fun to do now that we have Maya,
Do you know if the license of OBJ2FACT is transferable so somebody could sell me a license?
Thanks,
Edgard
This is what the MDD import plugin is for.
Export a single obj for the geometry, then export MDD for the animation.
So only a single OBJ is necessary.
Hello friends,
Thanks for the replys i had try importing into EIAS (no OBJ2FACT), it just doesnt appear to have the same vertices, three simple cubes all quads, animated by a spline in C4D.
Thanks Diego the Xrefs seems to work ok
The BAKEtoPLA form AIxSponsa did as well
I
am not so sure if exporting via Riptide Pro caused the problem , what are usually your settings when exporting from RiptidePro?
Than another key factor is that i dont have OBJ2FACT so i imported my model into EIAS using the FBX library ( you know FACT or ALL Models when importing) i did try creating a project and importing as well. Nada.
Any shred of light will be very welcome, thanks friends.
Edgard
Hi Edgard,
You need to set the scale in MDDIO settings at 1 and bake RST activated!!!
Export first frame .obj (frame 0) and Riptide scale to 1
these are the most common mistakes:rolleyes:
Cheers
Diego
Ok, when I have some time I’ll try to find a way to import the OBJ without OBJ2Fact, but if you hurry send me the OBJ, I can covert it for you with OBJ2Fact.![]()
Cheers
Diego
Thanks Diego,
I am just trying some MDD samples to be able to render fast and hopefully retire young!!
I have done some funky animations with Mograph for the several months but they need to be ready in a few minutes and with my workflow that MDD will come in hand.
Thanks for offering tho.
Edgard
wow it did work man
Thanks now lets try something more complex, wow
Thanks to Diego, Ian and David and the whole EIAS team great work.
Excellent!!
Edgard
Ok i was trying again with a more complex Mograph just a sphere with some cubes attached to it, the riptidePro version and classic and the internal C4D exporter DONT keep the same vertex when being imported into EIAS.
After several tries i did it by exporting my scene as FBX from C4D that way it did keep the vertex untouched.
:buttrock:
Thanks,Edgard
Hi good fellas,
A bit trouble but it does work,
After giving some UV in Bodypaint
Export your Mograph object sequence (RiptidePro)
Open the first object in the sequence in C4D export form C4D as FBX so it will preserve your vertex info and the UV data.
Than apply the MDD plug in form EIAS to these object.
Apply the texture to the MDD.
Works wonders.
I think if i had OBJ2FACT i could skip a few steps, but i dont
Thanks,
Edgard
