25 January 2007
EI Technology Group is proud to announce the release of EIAS 6.6. This version delivers EIAS natively to the Intel Macintosh as a Universal Binary. This release was beta tested extensively to ensure the most reliable and productive environment for your 3D development. This upgrade is a MUST HAVE for anyone who values speed and efficiency during the development process. The breathtaking speed enhancements of EIAS 6.6 with the new Intel Macintosh systems is something every Electric Image Animation System user will benefit from. Is there somewhere a âwhatâs newâ list?
Or is the only difference the universal binary?
Hey ManuelâŚ
Iâll contact EITG and get a summary and post it here. There have been some minor updates in functionality, but the big thing is UB.
Edit: Talked with EI. The v6.6 upgrade is solely a UB upgrade. Enhancements in functionality will be in v7.
I know they probably wonât say whatâs going to be in 7, but do you know if thereâs a timeframe for its release?
Thatâs strange !
On EITG website, ther isnât any mention of the 6.6 upgrade, not in the news, nor in the forums, not even in the store pages yet !
Iâd be interested in the upgrade, but i canât find any price pathâŚ
Does EITG wait for the new website to come up ?
Regards,
Laurent aka Tartiflette
P.S. : I did flush the cacheâŚ
Hello Laurent,
Our new site isnât up yet. If you send me an email, I will email you a copy of the newsletter. Within the newsletter is a âbuy nowâ link which will take you to the order page.
Please email me at phil@eitechnologygroup.com
Busy/busy (thatâs a good thing)
Best Regards,
Phil Martin
There are actually some minor functionality changes (exceptionally minor one might say).
Iâve just heard from Onyx about their products and theyâre currently in the middle of a development cycle and havenât actually looked at making any of their products UB yet, but they assure me that they will be looking into it once the cycle is complete.

Whoops⌠Iâm sorry guys. I forgot to include the newsletter link to the store. Here yah go:
Hi all, does anyone know whether it will be more expensive to sit out the 6.6 UB upgrade and go straight to 7 (which I appreciate has no current release date).
Weâre running PowerMacs here and donât have any immediate plans to switch to Intel.
Iâm still reeling from buying an iMac for home 2 weeks before the Intel machines came out - as most of my favourite apps werenât Universal at that time I didnât chase to get it swapped - in the immortal words of Homer - DOH !
