DreamWorks Animation Seeks an Editorial Pipeline Engineer/Technical Director to work in our Glendale, CA studio.

NOTE: This position requires programming abilities. It is not an Editor-type role.

DESCRIPTION:
The Editorial Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the technical interfacing of Editorial with Production throughout the production process. They will help to define and provide support for DreamWorks editorial pipelines and Post Technology processes. Work with other Post Technology Engineers and Management setting priorities. Work with Editorial, the Global Pipeline Architect and Supervising Technical Directors to determine structure of technical process for the editorial/deliveries pipeline and integration. Interface with editorial and production users to determine their needs, prioritize against global vision.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
· Proficient in scripting languages like: Perl/Python/Java
· Knowledge of Windows and Linux or similar UNIX variant
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Familiarity with current trends in Post Production Technology
Preferred
· Knowledge of editorial software/hardware engineering
· Knowledge of video and disk array hardware
Nice to Have
· Experience with CG Animation
· Knowledge, proficiency in C, C++
· Knowledge of CVS, Make, and the standard UNIX build tools
· Software debugging experience
