edge flow question...

Im trying to put a dart into the side of an object (and have creased its edges). However, when I subdivide I get pinching (Im assuming because Ive got that tri there).

would somebody be able to show how i should create this kind of feature?

An image of the pinching whilst smoothed would be good to see.

I think it’s possibly because you have six edges converging to one point.That causes pinching pretty bad. Try making it five and see how it looks. Also seeing it smooth would help great too. Perhaps another idea is to end the corner in a quad rather than a point then use the crease tool or add more edge loops to sharpen it. See images for example.
