Ecosystem Alpha map issue?

#1

I’ve been following the amazing tutorials over at Geekatplay and ran into a bit of a problem with the ecosystems in Vue 10 Infinite.

I have been following this tutorial l for placing ecosystems in painted areas of the terrain.

However, when I go to apply the ecosystem, it appears the alpha map is the opposite of what it should be (where I want the ecosystem to be is black, and not is white). I’ve looked for an invert but haven’t been able to find one. The Geekatplay tutorial has it correct. When I apply the ecosystem, it does not apply where I want it to.

Was there a switch between versions of Vue? I prefer not having to save out alpha maps every time and invert them using Photoshop when it seems this has worked before in previous versions.

Any help is appreciated  Thank you!

The easiest way to invert a filter is to right click the filter, select edit, then right click on the upper right button in the editor. This will flip the filter and invert the output.

You can also edit the alpha function, just before the output node, add an opposite filter node.

Editing the alpha function with the opposite node worked. Thank you so much!
