"Ebola Virus" illustration for Radius Digital Science

Hi CGSociey,

I am working now on creating the “Ebola Virus” for Radius Digital Science.
Going to create the illustration like I did with HIV Virus.

It’s a hard and pretty interesting task. For now I am on stage of research and finding the shape of the Ebola virus model.
Planning to make it half-fantastic and half-scientificly correct, to deliver not only “dry” information to viewer but the extremely dangerous spirit of this micro killer.

I will post the work in progress in this thread.

That is both terrifying and awesome! Do you have reference of the actual virus at that kind of microscopic level? Would be cool to see what elements you took artistic license on

Very cool man! I really like the nasty look of things. Do you plan on repeating the same segment several times over for the body?

From my very limited understanding of how a virus works, I think they attack themselves to the outside of a cell, and inject their messed up DNA into the cell. Maybe you could further emphasize the grabber claws and some kind of injection tongue thing?

Yep, it was a plan, but now it’s so hi-poly, that I need to find out how to make that happen :lightbulb

Does colors are looking IMHO really COOL!!³

I was thinking to add those Viruses inside veins. Killing the blood clots…
Just a suggestion. That will give to your compo a depth.

Nice shading but unlike your clay renders this lax depth. Those clay renders made it look like fierce. Just a thought.
