Easy Way To Making Incredibly Detailed Skin...wrinkles, Pores, The Works

#21

WOW! that looks kinda handy dandy. Would there be a way to do it in Painter? I’m not too used to these fancy pantsy techniques.

#22

Skurai lol ill rule the workld in a year mwahahaha…not
John Keates now as i remember there was bevelling in painter 8 i tried a demo…lunatique should probably know this one

#23

Hmmm… I remember that there are depth brushes available… maybe there is a way to use them in conjunction with light direction?

#24

Yeah now that you mention it I believe there is. Impasto brushes have a setup for this, I’m pretty sure I saw it someplace in the manual. I always skim over those at least once.

In Painter IX you can choose canvas menu > surface lighting… I think it uses a phong model. You can place the light where you need it and then move it around for when you do the bounce ligt probably :).

Heheh…cool stuff cg.

you inspired me man! i gave it a try, i just cant get the wrinkles to look nice and its kind of flat, why im posting this, oh dam what the heck;( im lazy guy…

renderwhite IN THE BEVELL EMBOSS ROLLOUT WHEN working the large wrinkles, try increasing the soften slider and play around with size ull see the results immediately

#29

i see the problem , use the soft edge brush for the big wrinkles and if the edges are too sharp use either the blur tool or the blender solution smudge tool it will solve the problemoh and i host images at image shack and when it loads i choose the link that says direct link to the image

I used the clear varnish empasto in painter and it looked pretty good. Does anyone know how to change the light direction laterally rather than up/down? In other words: when I try to change the light direction the painting eds up getting lighter or darker than it was rather than just lit from a different side.
