E.D.A.H is a private practice group Jack Zhang created on facebook. but it’s now open to anyone who want to participate. if you want more detail you could read the info on Zhang post here

same rules apply for the 2D work

  1. each update needs to show what you have at the beginning of the hour, follow by what you have at the end of the hour.
  2. don’t cheat.

my monthly focus for september: character design and photosop painting
so here a piece I’ve been working on but since I didn’t see the time pass, this is the result of 17 hour of work i’m still new to photoshop painting so I’m a bit slow
warning it’s a really big image

Hey I’m definately in, this could be just what I need to speed up my process!

  My monthly focus will be: mythical creatures/fantasy characters, working on concepts and anatomy.

My monthly focus for September: Using movie stills to learn about lighting, color, environments, and characters. No tracing, no color sampling.

Love your study idea ZacD! There’s a lot of action and emotion in these images! I think your second image in particular is quite striking cos of the lighting! I look forward to seeing more of your study (-:

The shading is too flat right now, just lights and dark lines.

love the spawn study.

piece of advice to zacD: focus on smaller image. for instance, the latest update, you could ignore the background and the office guy, spend more time focus on the fat dude, even just his head. Repeatedly working on the same subject allows you to grow faster. That’s one of the reason i created E.D.A.H so i can show the public of what i’m talking about.
