Dynamics and distributed rendering

#1

Hi All,

I’ve got a rig that uses motion dynamics, just done a testrender across the network only to find that the motion dynamics acts very erratically. Is this normal? Is there a way of stopping this behaviour without having to bake motions (want to keep this testing nice and fluid)

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

David

Gotta bake … gotta put the buns in the oven …

Mark Wilson’s PointOven is so clean for this - I personally expereince pulsing motions with dynamics when directly hooked to Lightwave, and PointOven baking is really so wonderfully tidy, that…

Well, just check it out.

Thanks guys, Regarding Point Oven Pro…It’s strange, I’ve had real trouble getting it to write LW scenes that work. It seems fine if you manually assign the mdd’s but when you have forty separate things being deformed in messiah, that gets kinda boring! I know mark wilson is now XSI based and so I don’t expect much more/any development. This really is an area that PMG needs to deal with IMHO. Mark’s input has clearly been very useful to PMG but now that he has left, they really need to take over his plugins or code their own. Any comment PMG?

Thanks anyway

Duuuuuuuude, I’m here! Any problems with Point Oven pro just email me. Version 1.4 is soon to be released which has alot of bug fixes/enhancements for all its supported apps, plus XSI support. I wanna make Point Oven solid in all apps, so any problems please let me know.

Its true that most of my development time is with XSI now as thats what we are primarily using at Passion. As soon as I get some time I’ll nail SB2, hopefully after PO1.4 is out.

Lets get it sorted.

XSI support … most righteous, dude.

Whoooa - Sorry Mark, I guess I was probably talking out of turn - Apologies. I guess I’m just concerned that your time will (understandibly) be spent developing XSI rather than LW/PMG stuff. POP 1.4 sounds good…SB2 Sounds EVEN BETTER!..Any clues as to the content/cost?
