dynamesh question

#1

Hi,

Im new to zbrush and would like to know how I can use the insert mesh brush, for example insert a cube or cylinder, to a high res mesh that I’ve already sculpted up and then join the two via dynamesh.
I dont have dynamesh already turned on so when I turn it on the high res mesh looses detail.
Is there a nice efficient way to do this, combine both meshes without the high loosing detail?

Like if I had a head and wanted to add a horn much later into the sculpting process.

Thanks.

EASY

Main subtool list above adding or subtracting subtool— BOTH MUST BE DYNAMESH

MAIN Subtool on the subtool list make sure the two white circle symbol is selected (this is by default)

On secondary subtool to add leave double white circle selected, to delete change to next icon, the white circle intersecting the empty circle

Then Merge down main onto secondary

Now in Dynamesh menu choice either add or sub then usually it happens sometime you have to hold cntrl and drag down in an empty area.
