LAST UPDATES ON THE LAST PAGE.

Here some of my ideas for my character:
-race: norms > nymph
-class: probably clericon, may change
-weapon: it will be a book or a shield, depending of what effect I want: martial or wisdom

 I want to play with the myth of the nymph, linked with his tree. This one fell, as dead, near his tree. To survive, they become one, half vegetal, half "human".
 She will have branch in the back, as wings, with leaf as feather.
 One of his arm is gone, the stump is as a cut branch.
 
 I'm not sure of what I want to do for the face... Probably blind.. dunno exactly at the moment.

First try of concept art. I’m like a piece of #$£§ in drawing, but it’s a try… It help me so much to think about my ideas…
For the legs, it will be like… hm… doesn’t know the word in english… but the “bell look a like” part of flowers

I didn’t want a “too soft skin”, I did’nt try to make a “babe”… For the moment I think I will use a lot of “text tatoo”, like psalms on all the body… Maybe few “green scars”.

Modeling in progress…
For the moment I use a picture of Kate Beckinsale as basic reference. Strong lines, etc… it will be probably ok…
I will hide the blind right eye later.

Some progress of the modeling.
I will do the basic modeling in a raw… and keep the tweaking/improvement for later, depending of “how many triangles I have”.
For the moment I’m in my expectation… 2,5K triangles…

Some changes for my concept. I was too ashamed of the last one, too many good drawers here, and I’m not one. So I tried a new one. :frowning:


Body and head low poly is near to be done in 3D…

More “martial” than the basic concept. I will probably improve the “vegetal exo skeleton” style.

Hi Irvin. Nice progress man. Keep it up. My only suggestion is that you should work a bit the hands. They look out of proportion when compared to the rest of the body.

@James: Thanks a lot for the critics!
I agree totaly, the hand is awful, I need to do a new one.
I’m currently thinking of “what to do” for the hairs: branchs, dread locks, etc… I think I will go with the dread, more "vegetal.

I will change the book for a “Tree Heart” probably. More in my subject, and a lot more meaning.

I try to mix: “dryad myth” and “phoenix”.
Phoenix for the “ressurection think” and for the autumn color I will use for the nymph.
Dryad myth for the “tree+nymph=one”.

I forgot the quick (and ugly) sketch last time.
The final colors will not be like this but in an autumn panel.

Yo Irvin,

Since you say your hands suck, why not replace the fingers with branches? Would be kind of cool/creepy and you wouldn’t have to worry about proportions so much. As for the hair, maybe vines?

Still waiting for my damn tablet, but I’ll be putting stuff up soon.

I was thinking at first to mix more vegetal/human, but I want to have a good contrast between the nymph and his vegetal exo skeleton, more an armor than a parasite.
For the final pose she will hold the “Tree Heart” in the hand, so I want the contrast between a vegetal heart and his “soft” skin. If I do a vegetal hand I will broke this contrast.

For the hairs I’m still thinking about that, don’t know really what kind of hairs doing. I have like 1,5K-2K of triangles to do my hairs in my currently budget. Vines could be a solution. Maybe a mix of differents ideas/hairs.
