Hell Raiser, I think you need a nap from your crazy freecrap world and get into War, like real men. We learnt a lot from old time civilizations and we love male-to-male action after a few weeks on the battlfield.

here’s some high quality human hand modeling for you chaps. I hope you don’t mind some stiffness in the fingers, but they really animate better this way, it’s just like you press a button and they pose automatically. But you need them to be as straight and uninteresting as possible, otherwise it won’t work.

Now seriously, just a 2-3 hour blockout, much to change but I guess I need to update or this thread is going to rotten.

This is totally amazing, I like a lot your approach to this contest. Because almost everyone seems to be focusing on one character as the central element of the piece, but you are using lateral thinking here, and moving on to a (imo) more ambicious concept: presenting a fusion of characters.

My two cents here would be to keep that innovation going. Everyone can criticize the anatomy and what not (which is great btw), but I think that by dedicating even more time to polish little ideas would then lead to a great composition. For example, search for elements that would not come to mind at first when thinking about the “dark & evil” elements of the contest topic. Keep away from the typical and obvious approach that everyone else is having.

The crab is a great inclusion… Maybe some other element that ironically would represent life or hope? What about one of the devils is eating an apple, and another one is drinking from the holy grail?

Your work is really promising, can’t wait to see the final result : )

thanks, I have to say I agree with you on mostly everything. I’m not sure on making him more “meaningful” and more “spiritual” with the whole holy grail thing, but maybe a trumpet that throws toxic nukes while it plays the song of Aleluia?

You really got something going on here!

Looking at the close-up image of the torso you posted… it’s a little too many details for my taste. However I must say I really like the direction you took on the area around the mouth and nose, looks really cool, wouldn’t mind seeing more of that!
