DWIV-3D-Abomination-Dredge

This is insane! I am a fan now. This is scary as hell. The pig head is looks phenomenal. Indeed great job on sculpting. Have you already planned on textures?

Clockwerkz- Thanks man! I decided to leave the weapon out. I did some concepts and rough models. i didn’t feel like the weapon fit really. i wanted him to be able to eat everything he could get his hands on. the weapon made it look liek his hands were too full, since he only had 1 good hand.

CharlesVarenne- Thanks. For the legs, I looked at rhino, human, and pig legs. Kind of a roided out version of the 3.

ShamesArt- Thanks a lot! Good to see you back. your entry is looking great. I cant wait to see it finished!

SebastianWunnicke- Thanks Sebastian! The pig head seems to have been a good choice, instead of the armor I was origionally planning.

Sleepinglion- Thank you very much! I haven’t planned out the textures yet. I have a few ideas, but nothing set in stone. I have been following your concept thread as well. I think you have a really good chance of bringing a medal home.

I am pretty much finished with the high rez other than a few tweaks here and there. Now on to the low poly!

Here is a screen grap of the model in its current state. The brace across his back is only a proxy. The high rez version is in another file. It will be a lot easier to creat the normal maps for it, in a more neutral position. ths on here was just added so i can place the straps correctly, and so i could toss it in teh scrren grab. Hope you guys like it.

Thanks again for stopping by, and for the comments!

Now that is what I am talking about!!!..the integration of the pig’s head works brilliantly well…congrats you have stamped the abomination with the gross factor, just make sure ya carry this on in the diffuse!!..great job man!

#44

Wow this is awsome, I’m in love with all thoes gruesome folds of flesh and muscle! :buttrock:

#45

This has got to be one of the freakiest models I’ve seen on here (in a good way). It looks great! Can’t wait to see more.

#46

textures nao!

#47

im lovin the concept behind this piece man…and the execution is looking fantastic. keep up the great work

#48

Awesome work. Don’t wait too long before moving onto normals projection and painting the diffuse.

#49

This is absolutely brilliant
Keep it up !

Its about time for you to update us with your textures. Go get’em! Dredge has come a long way from your original concept.

Sorry, it has been a little while since i updated this thread. We moved offices, which left me without Max for 5 or so days. I’m back at it now, and i have started on the texturing (the low rez model and normal maps are done). I’ll try to post an updated image as soon as possible.

Johnwoo- JohnWOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks a lot man! I hope i can pull off a solid texture for this guy. It is my weakest point at the moment but i have a couple of coworkers that plan on putting me through texturing bootcamp, so I’m tryin to stay optimistic.

NavigatorJones- Thanks a lot! I have been wanting to model a fat character for a while now. I’m glad you like it.

Synectikos- Thanks man! I hope to have an updated pic for you guys soon.

JahnkeKong- JEN!!! Workinig on them now. I hope to have them done by the early weekend.

Mikhail86- Thanks! I’m in the home stretch now. I’m ready to hit “render” and get some sleep.

HausFly- Thank you! The normals are finished and i am working on the diffuse at the moment.

Bartoldi- Only one week left, and a lot of work left to do. I’m trying to hang in there. Thanks for the support!

Thanks again everyone! I’ll have an updated image for you soon.

Finally, a new update! Not having my computer for almost a week put a dent in my progress, but I’m back at it. With the week extension, I am on track again. Im sorry for the delay, but i hope this makes up for it some.

The pig, belt, toes and straps haven’t been touched yet and I just threw a color and some scribbles on the cloth to get an idea of what kin of color i want to work with. I also have around 300 polys that i can use, so i plan on adding more geometry in problem areas (specifically around the cheek where it looks jagged). I have a lot more work to do, but I’m getting closer.

I hope you guys like it. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll keep you posted. :wavey:

Niccceeee!
Really like the color etc… The low poly with normal look great!

#54

Excellent normal baking and texturing

#55

I just finished the spec map today and put a few final touches on the texture. For next 2 days, I will be setting up lights and rendering.

CharlesVarenne- Thanks buddy! I was looking at your thread earlier. Your beauty render looks amazing. Any suggestions on how i should light/render this guy?

MartinNielsen- Thanks a lot man! Glad to see you are still in the fight! your entry is looking outstanding. Cant wait to see the final.

Here is my most recent screen grab. The cloth looks kind of funny in the back because of a viewport alpha problem. It renders ok though. Hope you like it!

#56

Looking forward to ya final images to this guy…this is turning out great!

#57

Finally finished! I had a blast and I’m ready to get some sleep! Same time next year? :wavey:

johnwoo-Here ya go!
