So, I’m new here and this is my first time at such a massive contest! I’m not a pro (and I’m way too far from that either!), as you will see, but aiming to be one, someday! So, any comments, suggestions and constructive critiques will always be welcome! I’m here to learn :wink:

This is my sketch for my participation, I will be uploading its development!

He’s name is Anuvil [Anubis + Evil, giving the idea it’s the God of death, but even more evil!! :P] and it belongs to the Race of the Demons, Class: Demon Prince

Started photoshopping my model!.. Can anyone please lend me a wacom?? xD

It’s taking lots of time, since I’m doing it with a simple mouse! Yep… like I said before, I’m still getting the hang of this, so I’m still evolving! =P

Well, I think, I watch TV too much. Got something of “Stargate”.
I recommend to watch the proportions. Are you using photographies?
For you are creating an humanoid body I advice you to search different photos of men in that pose or to make such photos by yourself.
Here you might download previews of different manner:
gettyimages, corbis, istockphoto … just some sides to mention. Perhaps it would help :wink:

Well, I don’t watch Stargate, but I took that as a compliment! Anuvil’s supposed to be Anubis-like, although I’m thinking of making some changes later for it not to be too similar!..

About the proportions, you’re probably talking about his left arm being too short, right? I’m planning on improving it later :wink:

And finally, the weapon is finished… Although I’m not very satisfied with it… It’s so simple and… innofensive!.. Oh well, maybe some other idea will occur!

Made some changes to his head, arms and weapon. I’m having trouble on creating a background for him…

I believe you found my Anubis concept from 4 years ago.
I did it for a company so I don’t think you can use it on Dominance War.

I don’t mind if you want to use it, but actually it resemble too much my old drawing (which were not too good).

You’re right, I found your image when searching for pictures of Anubis in Google…

in the first row --> Google Images

It didnt have any contact on that page, so I didn’t know how to get in contact with you…

Anyways, I did use it for reference on its anatomy and pose, and added to it my own concept. It really resembles your old drawing too much, so if you don’t want me to use it or want me to change it in any way, please tell me.

I don’t mind if you want to use it, it’s OK by me, but I just got the permission to use it on my website because the copyrights of the design belong to the company I was working for:

As long as you go further from the design I think is ok, but I don’t think my old drawing is a good example of proportions and anatomy.

I think the company is now on bankruptcy, so you probably won’t hear anything from them.

If you want to use anatomy references check “Burne Hogarth” or “Anatomy for the artist”.

Last thing I want is to cause you any trouble.
