the third and fourth ones are my favorites. Awesome illustration!

Great work! In matters of atmosphere I would definitively go with the third one but there is still some detail that actually you mentioned in a previous post. I think there is not enough contrast in the robot. I kind of miss a more clear foreground level.
Keep ti up!
Ricardo
This is beautiful!! Probably my favourite 2D entry so far!
Love your colours too. Out of the three I like the first and second. The third is a little too green in my opinion.
Also I kind of prefer how in the previous colour tests (with the 6 images) you had some brighter areas and overall higher contrast. The last 3 to me seem to have the brightness turned down or something which makes it a little muddier. But dont get me wrong they still rock, so do as you wish
I think that the third image is the best for your character, there’s a great atmosphere of death and decay…add there some more contrast and it’ll great:]
MrRico: thanks… yes you`re definitely right about the contrast… i fix that as sonn as i start with the opaque painting and final detailing…
Soggyclog:
thanks. encouragement is always needed… critique appreciated!
The first one was in my opinion to sunny. what do you think about the two in this post? You were right with the third- too green-- but i kind of like this green background so i worked on this.
PencilEater: Thanks!! There you go–>

All these color tests are awesome MR. I like the muted brown one best, but they are all good choices.
thanks guys…
its a tough decision. For some reason I tend to the second one. I think theres a better atmosphere… but :argh:
I would like to hear some more arguments… Im stuck at the moment. And now Im going to badger my circlle of friends:twisted:
thanks
I’ll go against popular opinion and say I like the first of the two best, with a couple of tweaks. First, I’d tone down the brightness on the ground, just slightly. Then push the contrast on the upper parts of the creature and splodge some higher contrast turquoise behind its head and torso.
Or, if you wanted to be more experimental you could highlight its mid-section and part of the left wing (our right) so it looks like a sunbeam’s hitting him but leave his head and the rest of the body in shadow. Tricky but it could pay off.
That’s a bit difficult to get across in words but I’m not at my PC so I can’t show you what I mean right now. Still, whatever you go for it’s looking good.
nellenmet: thanks- the majority has voted for the first…
Simon: I appreciate your kind support. I owe you something…
a barrel…
there`s still a lot work to do… but time is on my side… so far…

the contrast is always much better in my original images:curious:
hey guys, I nearly felt asleep while looking at my picture… so I changed the canvas size and added a bit more action… hope you like it. here the first rough version

Dude I love the contrast! I definitely like the composition adjustments! Personally I think this is one of the strongest 2d Entries.
keep it up man!
Hey Michael,
Really great work
Like a lot the mood and atmosphere on your image, really cool !! The forest can be a great opportunity to play with some “light beams” from the tree “holes” (Like Simon suggested) Waiting for more updates! Cheers!!
Awesome! I like the concept and the story behind it. Head looks great with that special armor.
I wait for your updates.
Cheers:
