a torso (arms-off) profile study today, working toward meshing flesh/robot bits more…once he tells me his story i’ll post it up. definitely leaning toward cyborg at this point.

sGoing to flesh this guy out. He will be the “De-Invoker” or as he’s lovingly nicknamed by his enemies “Gas Bag”. Summary is he is built to devour Invokers, processing their bodies and gear as waste and utilizing subatomic nano-processes to “metabolize” their magic, thus converting it into their own energy.

#4

did some work on him today. pencil…then added a quick splash of color to get some ideas going. also did the head states, both open and closed. the idea remains the same, he will eat and excrete Invokers. Digesting only their magic to maintain his own power. next up i’m going to tinker with his “digestion” process and “waste disposal”

Hey Kevin,

Really cool sketches  Like your concept of the “invoker eater”, great!! and the design looks well. Good luck and waiting for more updates! Cheers!!

Hi Maginnis, cheers for the comment. I think this sketch (#2) looks amazing (and fairly menacing) - I hope you manage to keep some of those spikey mechanical bits in the final design.

The colour version really shows the depth of the stomach - I take it that it goes straight through from the mouth to the other end?

thanks for the feedback Surrealix:) i kinda joined a few of my guys into this one. kept alot of that crazy mechanical stuff and some of the spirit of the fat guy. wanted something a touch meaner and kinda funky. he collects the skulls of his enemies and uses their blood to make his emotes on his “face”. haven’t settled on leg or hand designs for him yet. also he has this blast furnace thing going on in his head so once in a while it just discharges and makes his fiery head-dress.

a quick full body study did at the office. trying to get a little more “flava” into his design. had some fun with this.

and a little splash of color to spruce things up

Hey man! Sweet stuff, i totally dig the last design it has a very cool attitude. I also like th concept in post #4, not to excited about the colored version of it tough. And same thing with the latest sketch, i love that one, but the previous colored upper body doesnt have close to as much quality in my opinion. I like some stuff about it sure, like flames on his head has a cool touch and how you played roughly with some edges against the background. I hope you bring some of the energy that the last sketch holds into you final paint! Keep it up!

thanks for the feedback! i hear what you’re saying on the colorization especially on the fat man. I’ve been trying and more or less failing to do a quick colorization of my sketches. i’m definitely leaning more on the edgy, funky proportions to keep myself really interested in completing this contest:)

did a couple views of “Roboflavin 4000” last night. was in a strange mood so my scale models are a little “special”.

#12

quick update.
the gun on his left hand will be his “Tungun 2000”. As you can see in the awesome illustration below  the tung will come flying out at 6000ft./second. Upon contact with the victim it will constrict while burying the barbs into the flesh of the victim. The barb-tip will then open to complete it’s dual purposes.

  1. to keep the victim from escaping the tung’s grasp
  2. to suck the delicious nutrients from the victim’s body which will be used to power the mighty Riboflavin 4k’s wrath!

cool design! i liked that flying pose… an evil cyborg De-Invoker is cool concept! so, you mean he is no threat to Norm clericons, warlords and demons  Nice concept of the TunGun too… Good Going!

#14

very preoccupied with wedding related bid-ness lately so I’ve only managed to squeek in some pose studies. they’ve been a lot of fun to really get a feel for this guy.
