Hi there. This is what I have so far, trying to implement your suggestions as much as possible. Mizgrif still needs more work, I haven’t even touched Florence yet so shell be changing a bit and the light is just to give an idea, I’ll leave the lighting for the end with the back ground.
Needed feed back: color palette, composition, angle, expressions and anything ells you feel could help. Thanks again for dropping by.

Hey Daniel,

It developes very good!
The composition is a bit unbalanced. There is too much going on around the girl. I would try to clear it up by pulling the beast away reduce the action around her head.
I would also divide the both characters with a slight dust, what would push the depth of the pic.
In the lower right corner isn’t much happening so I would crop that part and put more focus on the main part.
The colorpalette is good I think. But I would suggest to study the behaviour of white surfaces in certain cases. If they’re not lighten up by bright light, they get the ambientcolor. So in this case the hair of the beast wouldn’t be grey, but kinda ochre. If you don’t feel comfortable with this stuff don’t realize it, but in future you should thought about this issue. ( but only in cases which aren’t in the focus like the hair of the beast. The girls cloth should mostly be bright white )

Ah , and the key-chain is really flat. It should be bended more around the body.

just a little sketch to show what i mean - http://mokiji.de/mokiji/272730.686860f08de3af9b8cde85bc6cd10873.jpg

che, loco Jack. que bueno verte!!! you have no idea how happy I was to see your around before I started my work this morning, very useful. I needed to make the final decitions about my comp, so that was great. thanks again I hope you like it. :arteest:

To all: the light and fog are just a quick test. tonight I’m going for a 14hr shift, see if I can finish this up, so there is still a LOT of work missing. So if you have an ideas of opinions pleas shoot, be brutal :buttrock: I need it. thanks again to all those who have helped so far, its been great!

#135

Much better  I still think you can do some adjustments on the composition. The girl could be moved to right a bit, and the space between the characters and the frame could be a bit larger.

#136

hey Martin, this one is for you man. Thanks for the support and timely advice. see you soon, and your dude is really coming nicely, big hug and all the best

#137

Love the illustration man!:buttrock:

#138

Yeah, great, Daniel!
But the girl doesn’t fit in the perspective. She’s viewed from above while the rest is kinda frontal. And her anatomie is a bit weird. She doesn’t look like a young girl, because of the face. I guess you had a reference for that- an older girl maybe?
And the fingers could be a bit more delicate. More childish.

These are the only crits a have. The rest looks great! Good job on that, mate!

#139

The last update looks very good. I like a lot your style.

Muy buen trabajo.
keep it up, dude:beer:

Hey Dani,
its coming together very nicely indeed. The updates you’ve made are taking it in the right direction. It seems to me that the creature’s focal point is its face so I would exagerate some of the highlights in the mouth. The amount of light in the mouth feels alright but I’m missing some sharper highlights on the teeth. Like some of the bright light coming from his left side could reflect on the contours of the teeth. Maybe i’m just beeing anal. I actually like it very much the way it is. Its Conceptual art after all.
cheers,

Hey Daniel,

Really cool update, like the composition in the last image, and the colors works really well.

About Florence: That hair cut is not the right for a little girl, more for a lady on 60´s and 70´s, use a not to tall hair for she. The horizont line on the bottom part comes from top right, descending to the left to florence, and her arms are in the same line, that creates an unbalanced image, guiding the eyes to the left bottom corner and out of the canvas, you can rise the Florence left arm and that could puts more emphasis to where she is looking.

Like a lot the expression for the beast, really cool !

Great work!! Looking forward for more updates !! Cheers!!

Daniel: Very nice!! Remarkable process. Just a little critique: Be careful with all the small light spots in your image (fireballs, girls dress on the right side od your image) they are desturbing the eye-flow and they also are destracting from your nicely renderes beast. But all in all your on the right way!!

StAtaulfo> thanks man, glad all the hard work is paying off, hope something nice will come of all of this, thanks for sticking around and the support, un abrazo man!

Stutts> thanks bro there is still more to come, I hope ha! Take care hermano.

Yakonusuke> loco Jack, thanks for dropping by, always a comforting feeling, he. About the perspective, she-s a lot lower than the beast so I thought it was right, but I’ll do the lines and make sure, if your right well, I’m screwed, you have no idea how much time I spent on her face that angle kills. I actually paid carful attention to her futures, the big separate eyes, tall for head and an older face. I wanted to do something just a little different, create an interesting effect in the viewer, hope it worked out. Yeah I mentioned earlier I’m using Gemma Ward for inspiration, and I don’t know what to do about the hands, also a killer and I used a 4 year old kid for reff, no se, I’ll see if I can work it some more. Bueno viejo nos estamos viendo nos vemos pronto.

Snk> thanks, cool to have you around and glad you like the way its coming. I worked the mouth a little, but there is still lots of fine tuning, hope I have time to put something tight together.

Ferx> q mas papi, q bueno verte por estos lados, siempre una grata sorpresa. I totally get what you mean about Florence. I’m not so happy with her myself, I was hoping for something more dramatic, her body arched backwards and a more possessed expresión. But she’s calm in the raging storm, tampoco esta mal. If I have time to change her arm I will. This whole piece is way beyond anything I’ve don’t before, I’ve mainly doodled my how life and started taking art seriously for 6 months now, so I’m a little over my head, ha!
Un gran abrazo vijo, nos estamos viendo, pa riba pa fuera pa dentro

Prabath> thanks bro, glad your liking it, and its always good to have a new face around, hope to see soon, take care and all the best.

MR> hi there MR, glad to see you around, always a big help in time of need. I just looked at this from another monitor and it looks way to saturated. The fire balls are way to bright, but at the same time I need the, it’s what she’s invoking. Maybe less in amount of balls, I didn’t get the dress part, but there should be a explosion at the bottom right corner, hope it wont be to much. I thought the dust was good, should I get rid of it or just not ad more, let me know. Big hug bro thanks again

#146

beautiful piece!!..I’ll look forward to seeing ya final image!..

#147

hey Daniel, I’m not sure if you finished but the latest update looks pretty awesome
even if you weren’t able to submit a finished image, i think you got pretty much got what most of us in this competition wanted, not winning a price but getting good feed back and meeting new friends to network with.
You’ll have an awesome addition to your portfolio when its finished, so Congratulations
I hope to see you again soon my friend…

Hola Daniel, todo bien? Disculpame por no escribirte antes, pero estos últimos días he estado de fiesta en fiesta porque varios amigos y yo nos recibimos. No me quejo , pero no he tenido tiempo para sentarme y escribirte como corresponde.
Well, I honestly think you’ve done a solid job, and your work really shows that you’ve learned a lot. I think you have a bright future in the world of digital art and you will pick up more experience and ability along the way, pero no te duermas en tus laureles!
Watching these first steps of yours has been very enjoyable, and hopefully some of my “sermones” have been of help.
Abrazo

Well this is what I sent. I personally would have given it another 10 hrs of work. On the last day my daughter got sick, so I spent the day with her, but I think I really did push with everything I had, around 170 hours on DW (from 4 to 8 am every day).

I think this is a great society and I couldn’t of done the progress I did if it weren’t for all of you good friends and passerby’s who helped out with all those useful comments. So I want to dedicate this work to all the friends who made it possible  (touching moment). A special thanks to:

GaeasHerald, you really went way beyond the call of duty and your counsel was good and to the point :arteest: . Thanks for taking all that time to help me out, it was a great experience working with you on this comp. I hope the rest of your career keeps unfolding nicely.(metele duro a la rumba! )

Ferx, I think you’re an incredible example of a good team player, you probably dedicated more time to others work than your own. You have a great sense of humor and it was awesome having you around, pa riba, pa fura pa dentro, saluuu!

yakonusuke, all your support and good tips have had a big impact on my work, and your own work inspired me to push hard and up the quality of my work. It was a great way of getting to know you, hope to see you and all the rest around in the future.

And a big thanks to all the rest how also gave their support, insane ideas, critics and all the rest that makes up one hell of a good competition.
