This is the revised version of Demon A “the Devourer”.

Basically I took the original and mixed it with some elements of demon D. I have some more ideas for this guy and due to the fact that the deadlines closing in I’m most likely going with this guy, but we will see…
Going to start more concept for him soon.

Thanks man, I’m going to start working on mixing B and D tonight, to see what happens(hopefully something good).

Powerful fella :slight_smile: You already managed to add a lot of personality in this character. To me he looks like demon lord.

You definatly have a good eye for this.
Your lucky to be working in 2D there is so much stuff you can get away with. :thumbsup:

Thanks, glad you like them. And yeah, I would enter 3d but there are soooo many ridiculous modelers now… I fear I wouldn’t even have a chance lol.

here are some different ideas for the devourers horns…
I think I like # 6 and 7 the most…
will be posting different ideas for back pieces as well in a little bit.

Here’s some ideas for different things I could do with his back.
and now some descriptions…

#1-Rotting Wings- Basically they are bone wings with rotting muscles and tendons on them. the idea behind this is he once had wings but due to his growth and size they became useless to him, at least as far as flying goes.

#2-the Standard- Since he usually hangs out right behind the first line, it could make sense that he would carry the standard for his army. kinda basic.

#3-Tentacles and Mouths- In this one his back is covered with wriggling tentacles. The majority of them end in barbs or claws, but a few of them end in vicious ever-hungry maws.
The tentacles would aid him greatly in consuming the dead and wounded.

#4-The Skewers- This idea has great bone appendages that come out of his back and end in wicked piercing spikes. they would not only serve him as weapons for combat, but would be able to skewer bodies lying around and feed them to his mouths.

#5-Impaled Undead- The idea behind this one is his back is littered with spikes, barbs, and hooks that he impales undead minions and sometimes enemies to. he mostly uses this to ad to his frightful visage, because the undead he impales remain “alive” to moan scream and squirm about.

#6-the Original- this was the initial idea for him but i didnt think it really worked… basically they are fire wings… yeah…

overall i like the idea behind #5 (impaled undead) the most. i feel the tentacles and mouths could work well too.

As far as the weapons go… they are kinda meh… but i think #4 could bee cool if i tweaked it.

So I got the turn around and then some done on this guy and Im starting to put it all together but i need to get moving… only have 11 days left until the Dominance War deadline.

Well I wasnt gonna post this until it was finished but I just found out that this page needs to be in black and white…
so ill post the color version until I finish.
just a turnaround, a close up, and an action shot of him eating people and pumping out undead minions…

ill probably fill up the remaining space with undead minion concepts.

Heres a WIP of my final pic… just to show I’ve been doing something…
Still have a lot to do though… including finish lighting, coloring, adding extra effects such as the water and more.

just a little info for those who want to know…
he is a demon lord who often leads the demon front. Rather than stand back and let his minions fight he often succumbs to bloodlust and rushes into the fold swinging his massive polearm (not in pic) or unleashing bursts of death magic. one of his most fearsome abilities is his tendency to consume the dead and dying on the field of battle. After a time the corpses are “reconstructed” into undead minions that pour from his torn stomach to fight for him.
