DWIII - 3D - Tripsan - War

I like the new invoker you’ve got… but I still like your first choice too. Nice work!

I know this guy isn’t your favorite, but the more I look at him the more I like him. It could be cool if he’s a cleric using a darkness object, but the dark energy gets filtered through him to become healing energy. The side effect is the physical toll the darkness takes on his body, but he accepts that sacrifice.

quick sculpt of the tentacle guys head, to help me figure out if i like him or not.

The sculpt looks good, but I think I like your clericon the best of all of them. I think an incense burner could open up a lot of really neat possibilities.

I also like the ribbons.

#12

thanks swizzle, i really like the clericon guy too, trouble is i really like the other two as well. its so hard choosing one.

they all have something about them that i think would either look awesome in the final piece or be fun to model…

ah well i do have a little time to play with still
44 days 20 hours 42 minutes 30 seconds

Great stuff tripsan, love your style! I’d personally so with the clericon too - but the tree is very cool.

#14

in yet another attempt at not deciding on which concept to go with i did some pose variations.

though i must say that the “c” pose for the warlord has got me leaning that way a bit.

#15

a quick sculpt of the warlord guy, probably choosing him.

its really loose and not quite right but its progress

update on my sculpt.

pretty happy with overall form. trying to decide what to do about the legs, think he would look more powerful if you saw at least some of the legs. just a thought.

what yall think?
if all goes well ill probably start the final sculpt this coming week.

Man thats quick, you are so fast Dude:). Nice concept and superb sculpting:cool:
All the best and keep rocking:thumbsup:

Your method of work is impressive and inspiring. I think we subutilize Zbrush very much, and your workflow gives a great vision how wonderful the software is. The easiness you made those visualization sculpts is very incredible too. Congrats, man, you’re great.

About your model, don’t you think his silhouette is too simple by now? The idea of using a tree is great, but visually it seems is lacking something. As you are so talented with digital clay sculptures, maybe you could experiment a bit more of shapes on your char before starting the real model.

Keep it up, I’m watching this thread.

#19

awsome videos. very inspiring stuff. are you going to do the whole piece in zbrush?

#20

RedRepublik:
the plan is to do it all in zbrush, with all the retopo tools i am pretty sure i can get it all done and lowpoly without ever taking it out of zbrush. eventually ill get it into max but im in no rush.

im having a blast with the movies, trying to document the whole process. i have hi rez versions of each session that i will string together when this is all finished… and post it somewhere.

jramauri:
thanks for the compliments, glad you like my stuff.
im a little hesitant at the moment to add too much to the silhouette, it is a simple silhouette to be sure but i dont want to add too much to it till i get a better sence of what the sculpt and the final pose might look like.

#21

wouldn’t it be nice to cut max out of a game workflow all together

#22

get rid of max?

/gasp

#23

Looking cool man. I’m really liking your sketches/concepts. Some nice ideas. Keep us posted!

Waylon

#24

quick post, not too much progress, cut arms off and replaced with new geometry and did a retopologizing of the mesh so i could reduce the poly count a little and make the deformations more predictable. movie is posted below image

Oh yeah, he’s gonna be coo!
Coming along nicely! Very slick!

#26

Very impressive the last video. Your work is opening my mind to Zbrush  The way you’re passing from your initial z-sketch to a mesh organized model is very inspiring. Great overall shape on your last up. Keep going

#27

Yeah, dude. Those timelapse movies are just plain awesome.

Do more work so I can see more stuff.

DO IT.
