The last survivor of an ancient race whos ultimate war melted the earths core. For eons is slumbered beneath the surface while new life evolved above. No tremor could break its eternal hibernation, and man flourished while history rolled by. But whens mans ambition reached its zenith his reward was his own apocalypse. The ultimate weapon was detonated. Society shattered, and the planet cracked. Upon this event the creature awoke and began to crawl to the surface. For 2000 years it clawed upward through its molten tomb, driven by the scent of a powerful energy. It saw sky and approached the origin of this energy, A crystal grown at the center of technologys last breath. The creature seized the crystal, and as the energy pulsed through its fire veins. Its mind was corrupted by annihilations ghost As its consciousness was consumed by this spirit of death, pillars of solid fire pushed their way through its stone skin and melted through its ancient armor. A creature which had never witnessed mans society was now possessed wholly by a dedicated that man never rise again. Now is born a death incarnate, the ultimate enemy the mankinds scattered survivors.

I like the plant guy better than the other one. There is more variety in him. Maybe if you put some cloth and/or armor to the other one…
Thanks. I agree although I’m still not sure if I like the plant well enough to make it. I tried armor on the lizard, but the point was sort of that he had his own armor built into his skin, so the component armor didn’t really work out very well. I really appreciate your take.
the second character has much more charisma and personality than the first one, but the first weapon is a very nice concept!
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to share you thoughts, and I’ll take them into consideration.
I really like the fish guy that blade has a great feel to it I really like the serrated(sp?) edge.
Thanks. Here’s the new one. I added a helmet, but I feel like he needs at least one other element to complete the character.
Amazing Concepts any of these lastest will be great - but I’d get to work times ticking on!
I realized that this concept hadn’t been an armadillo lizard for some time, and had turned into sort of a giant man with bull feet and horns. The only aspect of the design I really wanted was the spikes, the fire, the glow, and the idea that the creature is some powerful creature from beneath the earth’s surface. So I ditched the horns, the tail, the uninspired feet, and added a more monstrous unearthly face.

There’s still some work to do refining the appearance of the creature, but I’ve finally arrived at a concept that I’m happy with.

I’m nearly done with the character modeling. I’ve still got to make the weapon though before I can bring it into Z-Brush so that I can share the UV space properly.
I did some more work on the geometry. There’s no overlapping geometry in the Arm. I wish I could say the same about the back. I guess that’s next. I’m pretty new to ZBrush, and I’d been making sure to never import a model with Triangles, but I’ve abandoned that with this character. I did some experiments, and ZBrush actually handled the importing and tessellation of triangular polygons quite gracefully. This was something of an epiphany for me as it made a lot of the more complex formations of crystals more approachable. Thanks for looking.
