I have a couple ideas…concept soon.

Okay, my character is nobody important. Just the latest in a long line of poor fools to run across this artifact. Heres what I got so far…

The Heart of Antaeus is a “living” artifact, resembling a knot of roots, that will bestow great strength, regenerative power, and control over nature and vegetation to anyone lucky (or unlucky) enough to run across it. This power is not without a price. Once contact with the artifact is made, it attaches itself, and begins to slowly transform the host. Though powerful and consumed by a single minded determination to destroy all who oppose CGSociety and nature, eventually the host is turned into the vegetation they once had control over. While the Heart of Antaeus does not technically kill its host, after time it reduces them into something tree-like then waits for the next host.

I needed to get something posted, so I got a moment to work out how this guy might look.

I think I am going to go with some poor forest native who just happen to run across this artifact. Its all downhill for him now. I would say he has had this thing growing into his chest for a few years, and maybe he has a few more left before he is a vegetable.

I am going to mess with this for awhile and see where it goes.

Upside down now.

#5

Quick update. I am going to hit the roots next.

I love the idea, it’s really very unique. Very solid modelling as well.

One question - how does he get around like that?

#7

Thats a really interesting concept. Good luck.

cowtrix- Thanks. I imagined he would get around by growing new roots forward, and break off the old ones behind. I pictured him looking kind of like a zombie Doc Ock walking around on his mechanical legs. He probably wouldn’t have to move much since he has a pretty long range of attack, and can just send roots (Evil Dead style) at his enemies. Seems like it would be a hell of a thing to have to animate, luckily we don’t have to deal with that here.

#9

Started messing around with the base. I am going to make more vines and roots hanging off the dirt.
