#1

Its about time i took part of something here on the forum, so here is my Earh/Rock invoker.
Just a thumbnail so far, but i´ll try to be active and update it soon.

#2

Color update.

Nothing fancy just a quick paintover.
Its gonna be interesting to find a way to keep the polycount down with all the stones and stuff.

#3

Hey man! Nice to see some more people from school!

Looks like he is kind of riding on moving dirt, cool…

Good luck!

later…

Nice sense of motion in the sketch.
Somehow this makes me want to play warcraft again.
Storm, Earth and FIIIREE! :buttrock:

Keep it up.

#5

Front and sideview

Still havent decided on a name and backstory for him yet.

#6

Nice and simple concept, I like it very much:). This is gonna look cool when modeled.
All the best:thumbsup:

#7

Latest update, still havent decided the design on the staff yet.
Feel free to comment. I´ll probably post some suggestions later.

#8

Latest update. I´m gonna change the design of the weapon, i think its kinda bland.
Im also thinking of adding tattoos, the cgs logo could look good on him.

#9

I’m almost done with the model, and i’m curently fixing my uv-map. This is the part i that i hate. I can’t be the only one, can i? I´ll post a quickrender tomorrow. Then its z-brush time!

#10

The basemesh doesn’t look much right now, but its only a couple of hours lazy work.
Some changes tomorrow, aswell as some rigging and zbrush.
Its about 2800 triangles right now. I want a buffer for addons later.
The hair and beard will be added as alphas on a plane(a lot of planes :))
Comments are always welcome.

#11

Wow! The old man is rockin!! I like his pose on post #7

Maybe to keep the polycount down, you can use plane+texture+normal for the smaller rocks. Even if they get to be animated, nobody will notice since they’re small and fast-moving.

#12

Nice to see you’ve begun modelling too.
The character mesh looks nice. Will you give him some armour or any means of protection? Right now he looks a bit vulnerable. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking forward to more updates! :buttrock:

#13

I’ve made some updates to my model, and there is no mayor changes for him.
I ended up with right under 4000 triangels, so now im looking into adding more elements to him.
I dont wanna bog down the character with armor, instead the rocks around him will be both defence and offence.
I have also looked into and figured the hairproblem. I think im gonna call it off for today, but im looking forward to tomorrow now that i’ve got a good workflow going.

Thaks for the comments bye the way!
