If anyone has slightest of crits they want to share I would be superhappy. Since I plan on repainting the whole concept again.

edit: thanks Erik. Such a shame you didnt wanna join the ranks!

Hellö!
Since you asked i thought id give it a try to crit on your concept :), Ill just throw stuff out… all of course very much of my own taste and feel, so feel free to ignore :p! If looking only at the figure and not the concept his left(from our point of view) arm and leg seems a bit short. Now for the concept design. The belts around his chest and boots, it would be cool if you made them look more lika a part of the boots and the shoulderpad(im guessing the chestbelt is there to support the shoulderpad). Right now they look like something he picked up as a temporary solution to hold evereything together, maybe thats what you wanted though it doesnt look very intentional. I think the crouch shield is really cool, though it seems a bit to much like the center of attention right now, maybe it’ll change once you worked some more on other areas. The robe is kind of plain, but it works well though i think you could push the design a little bit more, maybe work more on decorating the edge of the sleeves and stuff like that. You could make decorations move up towards his elbows maybe to mark them out. Not much more right now to say about it more than its a really good start, appart from the crits i just told i think it has lots of potential! Good stuff ;)…

Ill check back later…

Lycka till!

Hey, thanks for the crits Niklas.
I will redesigning the boots. They are kind of boring and plain. I thought I might add some decorative enforcement on them maybe.
Very good point about the robe, Im otw with a new design for that, one that will be much more symmetrical. Like 4th image on the conceptsheet (guildwars) where I will place the CGS logo aswell. And its just me being stupid, the belt has no purpose whatsoever! I will switch side on it and ditch the chain to hold the shoulderpad.

Hello there! Long time no seeing dude. Would be nice to see you join! Hopefully you find the time.

#7

Update. New design for the “crotchplate” to go with the new theme of nature/vegetation. Some parts still missing before its done, and I will bend the mesh aswell so its not entirely flat.

#8

nice details:) I will wathing it.

#9

wow!
kickass stuff

#10

Sanislov: thanks alot!
samarcbz: Thanks alot you too. I have been watching your thread, and it rocks:)

Time has gone and progress has been made. One Iron Giant for my final diorama and some serious changes on the warlock. As of now I am not 100% happy with the development, will see if I like it better when all clothing is finished and on place.
Btw, he looks really silly with the cape over his shoulders atm. But thats just a placeholder.

#11

Minor tweaks on the shape.

Greater focus on armor. He is still supposed to wear some kind of robe, but I have to re-think, last attempt I think destroyed the shape and silhouette of him. I like this better so far.

#12

Pretty much fluff for todays update. Most work has been focused on actually making it possible to even finish. Such as retopoing torso and boots into one tool. Which means that the first lowpoly mesh is finished aswell.
Few pieces of armor missing. Than lots of details in the armor. And tweaks on the shape of the character (halleluja for transposemaster). And of course the clothing (such as the sleeves). And weapon! (which is work in progress too).

#13

Simply Roking thing out there!

#14

sagishow: thanks!

Update on the weapon. Tribute to a good song, I call it the Razor’s edge:)

About a day left of work on the weapon. Sharpen up the blade, and add some details to the staff. Perhaps add a flag (cgs?) tied up to the staff…

#15

Looking pretty cool man. I like the detail you have added to the weapon so far. Keep on pushing!

Waylon

#16

It’s lookin’ good and that weapon is sick.

#17

looking good, love the detail

#18

Yeah, looking great. I like the rougher version of him.

#19

StacyOgie, RedFish, FistOfGod: Thanks. Feels good that you liked it:)

Airflow: Tnx. I will try to pusher that style even further since its probably the only thing that keeps the character together at the moment:D

#20

Minor update. As mentioned I feel a bit off from my concept and stuck in no mans land. At the moment it feels right to go for a more realistic style. Started the texturingprocess. The model is not finished yet but pretty close to.

Shoulderpad requires more details, and perhaps something that keeps it on place. And I plan on adding crytals or something into the armor.
