Oh heck, it was worth a shot, man! Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the feedback. :thumbsup:

It’s just I want the the sweetness of an innocent girl, you know, winnie cooper all wholesome and whatnot. But, she has the ability to level giants and behemoths, and she can cut you like a Vegas pimp!

The goth look would make her look like a bad ass, or at least a bad ass wannabe?

Imageine if Beaver Cleaver had the power of conan, the stealth of a ninja and the attitude of Raislin Majere.

I just got back from Dallas from a conference. I am still goanna finish this character up.
…business is business.

#23

Hello,

Here are some screens of my base mesh. I just started modeling today. I hope to get this stage finished soon!

Oh, and Any suggestions on how to approach the dress?
I was going to extrude from the waist?

#24

here is where I am at with the base mesh.
next: finish tweaks on the base, make uvmaps, detail in zbrush…
I am also working on the props too. Will post soon.
NOTE: Right now I am at 1756 faces.

#25

Here is the razor.
It took me about an hour.

#26

Great progress, man. It’s on initial stage, so I don’t have much comments to do about. But her shoulders are larger than they should be. And her face at this moment looks a bit adult for a child. Check out photo references to compare.

To give more expression a for the figure, I think you could make her hands a little bit higher. If you are using maya, add a cluster to her hands and made them bigger ofr us to see how they look. :wink:

Good work, mate.

Thanks for the feedback. I will address thos issues. I am working on UVS right now so I ca taker her to ZBrush.

#28

Well, I have mapped my uvs and have started working in ZBrush. Still couldn’t get gator to transfer uvs, so I had to do that in maya. Anyways here are some zBrush Images. I am still working on the overall form of the model. CC welcome.

#29

Hello,
I am about halfway done with my ZBrush work, so I thought I would take some time to update.

I am ready to start sculpting/texturing and adding small details. Here is where I am so far.
I am not really happy with the hair…hmmm…

#30

Here are some texture and detailing updates. whaddya think?

#31

Here is the face with the logo

#32

Man, I got to admit I don’t like her. With this suffering expression, and zombie look, she doesn’t look attractive to me. I’d never play with a char like her. I didn’t like the dress patern too, too repetitive to me. You could try to do some lace, and childish details on her clothes. And change that expression on her face, to something more powerful, or menacing. The way her shoelaces are put on her boot looks too spread on my opinion. Are you using references?

#33

hey jramauri,

Thanks for your crits and your honesty. :slight_smile:
I was cuising the posts and I was seeing alot of mutated creatures, so I tought I would try a mutated look for the her. I do have a traditional texture map saved too. I wanted to bounce this idea off of others to see the response I would get.

I want her skin to look like it is infused with majic. I am tying to figure out how to do that.

I agree that the dress pattern is too repetitive and you are right, I do need reference for the boots.

I will post my references soon.

I have not yet addressed the expression of the face.

May I ask, how would you go about doing the hair?

thanks for your responses.
Matt

i like idea 1 better… just give her a pet or monster to protect her from all those metal dudes!

so the electricity deactivates the metal monster? cooool

#35

The way her skin looks by now is just a kind of zombie. Maybe you could try to add some tatoos on her skin, or even glowing lines. Change her outfit would a good idea too, as her dress is to simple for a DW character.

About the hair, I intent fo make the hair of my girl on zbrush, less the fringe. This part works better with transparency map, on maya.

Looking forward for your ups, man.

#36

here is a quick update. I still have quite a bit of work to do on her.

#37

I agree with the comments about the zombie.

I also think that the amulet isn’t nessessary, it would be much cooler if it were the jar that was the artifact, like the source of her power. It’ll be way more original too; Amulets are a pretty obvious idea for an artifact.

I don’t mean to insult or anything, just trying to suggest improvements.

#38

Thanks for the response!
You will be pleased to know that the jar is the artifact. It is what allows her to communicate with the insects she catches.

#39

There are some slightly improvements you could do to make your char looks better, in my opinion:

  1. Bigger eyes, to look younger;
  2. Bring the mouth nearer to the nose, for the same reason;
  3. Make the head bigger, to make her 6 head tall, a nice proportion for such age;
  4. Waist thinner. Children ares so thin sometimes you can’t accept they have organs inside. I know you can think that will lack volume on her, but this can make her look more like a real kid;
  5. Less spread legs;
  6. A little more volume on boots;
  7. See the shape of her shirt? This helps to give some volume to this area;
  8. More definition on arms, as her sleeves are so thin and tight.

I hope this help you, my friend! If I were you, I’d made that red stains on her face more subtle, they are too exagerated by now.

Looking forward for your next steps.

Here is a more defined concept. Considering the feedback and considering my own results, I went ahead and decided to work out a more solid idea of what this character will look like. I decided to go with a more punk styling. After listening to bad religion, rancid and goldfinger all day, it seemed to make perfect sense. Same powers, just a differenct look. the new look seems a bit tougher too, since this is WAR! Of course a stalker would not have the logo plasered on the chest inside of a heart, but I think the integration makes enough sense to go ahead with it. 'sides, a good stalker would never be seen until it was too late :twisted:
thanks for all the feedback so far. Now onto reworking the base mesh that I have.
