I’m always a bit hesitant to throw in the gauntlet when the competition is this large, so I did a bit of work before posting to get my self psyched up. So far the character I’m working on is called Nagila. He is a warlord of the fire/lava elements. There isn’t an epic back story yet, I’m sure that will evolve as this piece goes forward.
Of the silhouettes I sketched out these were the ones that stood out.
I really liked the way the one in the top left looked to I sketched over it a few times
The character in the bottom left seemed to be the most interesting of the sketches so I made a gray pass to help me get a better feel for the volumes.
I’ve started work on the base mesh but I haven’t gotten it too far along so no picture of it yet…
